１月１５日いよいよ出発。ラクロス空港からミネアポリス（４０分）、アトランタ（２時間）で１泊して翌日グアテマラシティーへ（３時間）。２日かけての移動だけど、妊娠中のフライトにはちょうどいい！フィンは飛行機に夢中。この旅行中飛行機を見るたびに”ここーきーーー”（ひこうき）と繰り返し、トラックやトラクター”トゥラーック”、バスは”ブス”と、かなり楽しんでいた様子。日本語英語を使い分けるというよりどっちか簡単な方を選んで話すフィン。1/15 We left home flew from La Crosse to Atlanta via Minneapolis. We stay over night in Atlanta and then flew to Guatemala City (3hours) the following day. Finn loves Airplane. He says "Hikooki" which means air plane in Japanese. He understand both English and Japanese but when he say something he chooses whichever is the easier one!さ、いよいよ飛ぶよー
Now we are flying!! He loves trucks, tractors and buses. so he pointed out every single one during the whole trip!
アトランタの空港近くのモーテルで一泊。He loves his suits case!
いよいよグアテマラシティーへ到着！グアテマラシティーの治安はよくないので到着してすぐに長距離バスのバス停へタクシーで移動（約１０ドル）バス出発予定時刻３分前について飛び乗った！今回利用したバス会社はFuente del Norte。 さすがラテンの国。もちろん３０分ぐらい出発時間は遅れたけどね。片道Q160約＄２０。さ、ここからカリブ海側のRio Dulceへ一気に移動！グアテマラは山脈が連なるマウンテンカントリー。グアテマラシティーは標高約１５００ｍ。ここからいくつかの山を下っていきます！We arrived Guatemala City. We didn't want to stay in GC so we took a taxi to the Fuente del Norte's bus station and took a bus to RIO DULCE! The bus schedule was perfect. When we got to the bus station we had only 3 min so we got tickets (about $20) and jump on the bus! Of course the bus schedule wasn't on time so we waited for 30min. Welcome to Guatemala!! The elevation is about 1500m in GC so now we are about to go down from the mountains to the coast!
グアテマラの人たちに交じってぐっすりのフィン。かなりがたが来ているバス、窓はひび割れしてるけどそんなの当たり前。エアコンはついてるけど空気の循環が悪いから快適とは言えないなー。グアテマラでの運転はほんとアグレッシブ。びゅんびゅんくねくね。でも途中の景色は最高です！Zzzz zzzzz the bus’ window next to me was cracked/broken which made me quite nervous but it is quite normal here in Guatemala. The view was so beautiful but the air circulation was horrible... zigzag road and aggressive driving is the normal in Guatemalan! 
５時間後、夕食タイム。わーい！グアテマラでの初めての食事だ！プレートにはお肉、ライス、フリッフォーレス（ブラックビーンズ）そしてトルティーヤがついてQ25（約＄３）これがローカルの食堂の相場のようだ。タマーレス(Q10約$１,３）（トウモロコシの生地の中にトマトで味付けされたお肉が入ってる。２０分間しかなかったのでほおりこんでトイレを利用して（Q2約３０セント）バスに急いで戻った。赤ちゃん連れにはちょっときついけど、仕方ない！グアテマラのトイレは基本的に有料。きれいなトイレは期待できない。トイレットペーパーも常に自分で準備しているとよい。トイレットペーパーは流さずゴミ箱に入れる。5 hours later, we stopped at a restaurant and had dinner. We had only 20 min so we shoveled it into our mouths and used the rest room Q2 about 30 c. You need to pay for using rest room most of the time unless you eat in a restaurant. And the rest room is usually not so clean and you want to prepared with your own toilet paper. Don't flush the paper either, you need to put in a rubbish bin.
Rio Dulceに着いたころにはもう真っ暗。６時間の移動でした。暗くなっても明かりはつかないバスの中、最後の１時間はフィンが怖がってたけど周りのグアテマラのお子ちゃまたちが一緒に遊んでくれた！懐中電灯必需品！Finally we arrived at Rio Dulce! It was about 6 hours driving. Finn was bit scared without any lights on in a bus but he found some friend on the bus and they played together and Finn was happier!
今回利用したホテルは"Hotel Kangaroo"オーストラリアは私たちの思い出の国。グアテマラで？！ロンリープラネットで推薦されてたのでとりあえず泊まってみるか！１月は雨期の最後の方。雨がザーザー降ってて、ちょっと不安。ここから５分ほどボートでホテルに移動。We are nearly there! We got picked up by our Hotel (Hotel Kangaroo) boat . it was dumping rain and dark, but we suited up and hoped for the best. as soon as we lunched for the hotel the rain quite and the journey was smooth. January is the end of rain season.
ボートに乗るや否や雨も小雨になってちょっと濡れたけど無事ホテルへ到着！朝から晩まで、ずっと移動だったけど、フィン、よく頑張った！明日はリラックスするぞーーー！バスの中の空気のおかげでのど痛い、、、。この先５日ぐらいずっとはなぐずり、、、。その他はいたって健康だったんだけどねー。ウィスコンシンの澄んだ空気から来た私たちにはかなり敏感。We were so tired but here we are!!! I can't wait to have some relax time tomorrow!!!
