Exploring Indian mound! インディアンマウンド探検！

私達の住んでいるところはミシシッピ川にも近くアメリカ原住民のインディアン達の住処、マウンドなどがまだまだ自然に残っている。というわけで、今日は探検にでた！といってもちょっと小春日和のいいお天気だったのでみんなでハイキング。
すると、、、、、、石？のような、なんとあの歴史の教科書に出てきそうな昔ナイフやカマ等を石から作ったと思われるものがたくさん出てきた！しかも、原形をとどめているものは持った時にちょうど指がはまるようなくぼみがあったり。こりゃーーーすごい、、、、、。
Near the Mississippi, this area has a lot of Indian mounds and artifacts. Today it was sunny spring day, so we went for exploring around valley.
Then,,,,, we found a lot of piece of rocks which look like knives or other tools! This one in the picture was made we think for taking the hide off an animal. it has a sharp blade and has a custom handle with groves chipped in for your fingers to grip in!!! It's amazing!

わ～～まさかこの土地でぜんまいを見るとは！早速乾燥させてみました！まだ食べてませんが。混ぜご飯かな～～～～～
We continued for walking and found a lots of wild plants! Wow even Royal Fern! I dried it out and we will have with rice??!! Yummy!!!!
そしてワイルドキャロット

ブラッドルーツ!中は本当に血のようだ！このところ親知らずのおかげで口の中が少し痛い、、、、何しろこれを乾燥して煎じて飲んだりすると効果ありらしい！早速乾燥させてやってみよう！

その他にもワイルドイチゴ、ブラックベリーなどなどこの先楽しみな植物たちがたくさん地上にあらわれていました！
We also saw wild strawberry, Black berry,,,,and so on.
小川に出くわし沢山のウォータークレスを発見！水も透き通っていておいし～～～！！
あれ？何やら写真の中に渦を巻いているような影が！！！！
そうです。砂流　底なし沼？！　この渦の中に入ってしまうとどんどん砂地に埋もれていきます！要注意！
There is a stream which has a Crystal clear water and lots of watercress. And also it has some quick sand!!! Watch out!!!
インディアンマウンドの周りにはたくさんのワイルド植物、薬草、そしてきれいな水。彼らが生活していた頃とあまり変わらないこの土地。人々がリサーチにやってくると少しずつ変わってしまうのかな、、、、。
でも素敵な土地をありがとう！！
There are lots of neat things around here. Indians knew more about nature than us for sure.
Clean water. air, wild plants, Natural medicine! How wonderful !!
