予定）ウィスコンシン→コロラド（10/23-10/29）→カリフォルニア（10/30-11/16）→ハワイ マウイ島（11/16-4月～４月頃）→日本→フロリダ５月→ウィスコンシン５月中旬→ウィスコンシンへ戻りザリトルカントリースクール再開。アムトラックは色々路線があるけれど、今回はカリフォルニア ゼフィル線を利用なので最寄駅Galesburg(イリノイ州）までシダローズが車で送ってくれた。といっても片道４時間。http://www.amtrak.com/servlet/ContentServer/AM_Route_C/1237608341980/1237405732511
Galesburgの町においしいクレープレストランがあるといううわさを前から聞いていたので列車に乗る前に３人で寄ってみた！Our Winter Adventure started on the 22nd of Oct! Our schedule first visiting Colorado(10/23-10/29) then California(10/30-11/16) and finally we will arrive in Maui HI were we will stay till spring! Cedarose kindly took us to the nearest station for The California Zephyr called Galesburg, which is 4 hour driving. We heard that there is a great crepe restaurant so we checked it out!
チキンマッシュルームクレープ、カナディアンベーコンクレープ、そして野菜たっぷりクレープとそれぞれ注文をしてみた。か、か、か、かなりおいしい！We had the Chicken Mushroom, the Canadian bacon, and the Vegetable crepes! They were all delicious!!
そしてデザートのクレープは大きいサイズをシェアすることに。たっぷりのアイスクリームをクレープでまいてホイップクリームとチョコレートソース、そしてピーカンをトッピング。３人でシェアしても多い。でも材料全てがとってもハイクオリティーでテイスティーでした！We can't miss trying a desert crepe even though we were already full. We shared a large sized trutle crepe. It was really big! They used very good quality ingredients. Everything was so good!
さていよいよシダローズともお別れ。アムトラックの駅へ到着。予約はインターネット上でしていたので、このマシーンでチケットをゲットしてチェックイン。Now it is time to say good bye to Cedarose,,,. We booked our tickets on-line and printed them at the checkin machine in the station then we checked in in person too.
コーチ席でもかなり広々とした席で、レッグレストもついているので１日２日とこのアムトラックで過ごす人にも快適。We took coach seats but it has plenty of space, even for an American! I can not even reach the seat in front of me! each Seats has leg and foott rests and electric power too!
オブザベーションカーではこのようにガラス張りになっている。レストランカーで食事を予約する事も出来る。今回はとりあえずお腹もいっぱいだったのでパス。この後、１つだけ問題が、、、。後ろの席の５０代ぐらいのおばちゃんが良くしゃべる事、、、、。しかも携帯で大きな声で、、、。周りの迷惑考えましょう、、、。って感じでしたが、、、。We went to the observation car, were they have windows all over! You can also book for your meals at the restaurant car. This time, we were already full so we skipped.
朝、もちろんそのおばちゃんの携帯で話している声に起こされ、窓を見てみると、こんなにきれいな空が一面に！出発してからここまではかなり平地が続く。本当に平らで地平線がはるかかなたに見える。もうそろそろ最初の目的地コロラド州デンバーへ到着！The only thing I would complain about is the lady that sat behind us,,,, she talked on the cell so loud and just kept calling people all evening. The first thing I heard in the morning was of course her voice talking on the phone,,,,,. But look! It was a beautiful morning! From Illinois to Denver is almost flat all the way. I saw a beautiful horizon as the sun rose off in the distance!!
１6時間ほどアムトラックに乗って、ついにデンバーコロラドのユニオンステーションへ！ｸﾛｰﾋﾞｽのおじいちゃんとおばあちゃんが迎えに来てくれました！After 16 hour, we finally arrived at the Union station in Denver Colorado!!! Clovis' grandpa and Grandma picked us up and took us for breakfast!
ずいぶん都会に来たもんだ！これからロッキーマウンテンコロラドの旅を楽しむぞ～～！Denver is a big city!! Let's go to Rocky Rocky mountains!!!
