冬のテキサスキャンプ旅行 Texas Big bend National park camping trip 2017

あれよあれよと2018年も明け、子供たちの学校も1月2日より始まり、ブログの更新は今年も遅れがちまちがいなし、、、。でも記憶が残っているうちに少しずつ、、、と思いながら過ごす日々。今年も充実な毎日を過ごしていきたいと思います！Time flies!! It's already 2018! I am trying to update our blog but still slow,,,, here is our winter trip!

今年の冬は寒さの回避キャンプの旅テキサス州へ！

ウィスコンシンの家を出発し、3日目、途中ホテルに二泊(12/15-12/17)して、合計28時間のドライブを経てついに、テキサス州はメキシコとの国境にあるビックベンド国立公園に到着！

Our winter trip in 2017 was Big bend National Park in Texas!!



長かった～この暖かさをゲットするには長～い道のりだったけど、今回もちび達文句も言わず、付き合ってくれました！(キャンプサイトRio Grande Village)　紅葉している木もあった！Seeking for this warm weather we drove28s from our house! We stayed 2 night at a hotel on the way down. Our boys are pro for long distance driving!
そんなドライブ 途中に人参をかじっていた5歳のキイのお初の前歯が抜けた！Kii was eating his snack (carrot) and look! He lost his first tooth! Surely the tooth fairy came to him at the campsite!

 さて、長距離ドライブの疲れも忘れ、早速ハイキング！(Boquillas)さすがメキシコとの国境。サボテンがいっぱ～い！！2014年に行ったメキシコの旅行を思い出す！

We recovered from the long driving exhaustion quickly and went for hiking! The river you see in the picture is the Rio Grande which is a border of USA and Mexico! Cactus reminds us our Mexico Trip in 2014!

迫力ある岸壁を見ながらのハイキング。It's amazing view!

砂の坂を上って洞窟に。 And we hiked up on sandy hill to a cave!

わぁ～楽し～Whee~~~~fun fun fun!

キャンプサイトから車で5分ぐらいで天然温泉(Langford Hot springs)に行けるので毎日のように入りに行きました！ぽっかぽか～ Oh we love hot-springs!!!It was just 5 min from our campsite so we went almost everyday even after loooog hiking! The temperature was perfect!

川の水は冷た～い！！(Rio Grande) It's cold in river,,,,

The geography is amazing here. This area is made by volcanoes.

 今度は山のハイキング。キャンプサイトから45分ほど車で走る。　途中野生のヤギを発見！見事な角！Finn found the mountain goats!!

迫力ある山を間近にしたキャンプサイト(Chisos Basin)もあるけど、今回は気温低いので、標高が低いキャンプサイトを選びました。This trail is called Window. We started from Chisos Basin campsite. The campsite has better view but this time of year might be cold...But people still set up tents!

ごつごつした岩山を進みます。

途中から風が急に強くなりましたが、何とか”ウィンドウ”という目的ポイントまで到着！

Finally we made it! It was supper windy!!

Next, Canoe!!! We canoed the gap you can see at the center of the photo above!

お次は、一番楽しみにしていたカヌー。Here we are! Santa Elena Canyon  

It's just amazing!!!! Finn was the paddler with daddy.


We paddled up stream first.

left side is Mexico and right side is U.S! Daddy was saying Paddle Mexico! Paddle America~~to Finn!It was gentle enough to do for us to canoe but sometimes it was bit adventure!

Now we are going downstream! Kii's turn!



二回目のカヌーは、いつも行っている温泉を通ってみよう！Our second canoe trip was by the hot spring!

3回目のカヌー Third one!

メキシコ側にはカウボーイたちが多分観光客たちを待っている様子。Cow boys were at the border I bet they take people for riding!

すべてのカヌーは特に整備されているわけでもないのである程度情報を集めてから自分たちで経路を選ぶ。クロービス、カヌーかついで岩山越え。もちろん予想外。この日は途中で風がめっちゃくちゃ強くなってかなり運ぶの大変だった！The canoe trail is not so developed so sometimes Clovis had to carry the canoe up and down the rocky hills! He is a strong daddy!!

思いがけずキャンパーに使うガスがなくなって、車で1時間ぐらい離れた町まで行くことになったので、ついでにビックベンド　ラウンチ　州立公園まで足を延ばすことに。といっても国立公園も州立公園も本当に大きいので一部だけ。At night we used heater and
it run out!! We thought we can get near the campsite but,,,, the closest place we could get was by the Big bend ranch State park which takes about one our from the campsite! Oh,,,, well since we need it let's go to the state park!! The state park is also huge! We tried a couple of trails. The first one was Hoodoos trail. Lots of unique rocks!

お次はクローズド　キャニオ　Closed Canyon trail

水が通る道をこうして歩けるのってすごい迫力！

ちなみにガラガラヘビがでました～～～～～！！！こわっ！！It was very nice trail but we were rattled by rattlesnake!!

国立公園のEmory peak trail 6.4 miles（約10キロ）の岩山ハイキング。Back to the national park at Emory peak trail (6.4mile)　

この日も大満足！Oh we love hiking!

クリスマス中の旅行だったので、こんな感じでハイキング の時もずっとクリスマスソングを歌い続けていたボーイズたち。周りの人たちに大好評でした～！It was around Xmas so boys were singing Xmas song people loved it!

クリスマスイブ。学校で習った長靴をみんなに作ってくれたキイ！Kii made stocking that he learned at school for everyone!

おかげさまでキャンプサイトにもサンタがやってきた！Santa came to the campsite!

岩がいろんな形をしているのがとっても面白い。（Grape vine hills trail）

ティオ、二人のお兄ちゃんを置いて一番先頭でどんどん進んでいきます。Tillo left his brother behind he kept going with his snacks!

スナックを与える限り歩き続けるボーイズたち。As long as they have snacks with them they walk everywhere!

夕日がなんともきれい！カメラでは表現できないけど、、、。I can't get enough beauty by my camera but it was so beautiful!

今度は7.5ｋｍの岩山ハイキング！またまた結構な道のりとアップダウンがあるコースだったけど、ボーイズたちよく頑張りました！Last one is Lost mine trail 4.7miles（7.5キロ）

結構急で滑りやすい砂利道もあり。Sometimes it was bit hard for Tillo so Clovis put him in his back pack.

頂上からの景色は最高でした！We made it! It was around 7000ft! (2100m)

鹿もこのほかクマも車から見ることができた！あ～10泊なんてあっという間！帰りは親せきのお家を二軒訪ねながらウィスコンシンへ向かいます。Oh it was another great camp trip!
Camp site(12/17-12/27)

同じテキサス州でも車で10時間ほどのダラスの郊外に住む親せきのお家へお邪魔しました！ (12/27-12/29)One the way home we visited the relatives. First we stop at uncle Mike's near Dallas in Texas. It took us about 10 hours from the Big band and temperature went down a lot! (Usually it's much warmer but it snowed)  

温かい家族がみんなで迎えてくれてとっても楽しかった！アメリカ中に寒波がやってきていたらしく、普段降らない雪が降り、寒い日になった。

もう一軒、ダラスから10時間ほどのドライブでミズーリ州のカンザスシティーに住む親せきのお宅へ！夜10時ごろついたのに夜中12時を過ぎても子供たちは遊んで、合計6人の子供たちは朝から晩までノンストップではしゃいでました！そして最後、雪と氷の道路状況の中、途中何台か大きなトラックが点灯していたり、乗用車が道路から外れて雪の中にいたりとたくさん事故がありましたが、私たちは無事お家へ到着。Next, we visited cousin Laura's hous in Kansas City in Missouri! They have three beautiful kids and 6 kids played from morning to midnight!Thank you so much for hosting us it was so nice to spend time together!!  （12/29 -12/31)
