今年もまたまたやってきたクリスマス。オーストラリアにいたころ以来の暖かいクリスマス。X-mas in Hawaii!! Nice and warm!
イブの夜、ハワイ島での仕事を終えて帰ってきたｸﾛｰﾋﾞｽ。朝から張り切ってお得意のパンケーキを作ってくれました。ひそかにｸﾛｰﾋﾞｽのパンケーキはかなりいけてるので大のファン！アメリカのパンケーキは薄いのにふわっとして軟らかい。これが何とも言えなくおいしい！Clovis came back from work late on X-mas eve night. He was in Hawaii (Big Island) Island for 2 nights for his work. On Xmas morning, he cooked pancake for us!! I am a big fan of his pancakes!
うかつにも、、、メープルシロップを買い忘れていた、、、。朝スーパーに行ってみたけど、、、そりゃそうだよね、、、しまってるわな、、、。そこで、ｸﾛｰﾋﾞｽのおばあちゃん秘伝のブラウンシュガーソース。バターとブラウンシュガーたっぷりなので特別な日だけに頂きます。I forgot to buy maple syrup,,,, So we went to the nearest supermarket but of course it was closed,,, But he had an idea. ' Brown sugar sauce from Grandma's recipe! it's pretty much pure brown sugar and butter, so we only eat it on special days. sooooo good!
今年のクリスマスはｸﾛｰﾋﾞｽのファミリーはそろってコロラドにいるので、スカイプでおしゃべり。コロラドの皆にハワイのオーガニックファームで作られたフルーツと祖父母の大好きなマカデミアナッツを送ろうと張り切って用意したら、、、、。ポストオフィスの人に空港の検査を受けたら送って大丈夫って言われて、箱に詰めて空港に行ったら、、、、。フルーツはパイナップル以外特別に火を通したものとかしかアメリカ本土にさえも送れないって、、、。そんなわけでフルーツは却下されてしまった、、、、。がっかり、、、。the rest of Clovis' family are in Colorado so we talked on skype. We tried to send Hawaiian organic fruits and macadamia nuts. The post office lady told us as long as fruits gets checked at the airport agricultural station then we can send it to the mainland. so we went to the air port to get it check but,,,,, they wouldn't let us send any fruit and they said the post office lady didn't know what she was talking about :(....... we can only send pineapple to main land,,,,. We were so shocked,,,. We really wanted to send the fruit because Grandma told us that when Grandpa and Grandma came to Hawaii around 30 years ago, they had papaya every morning. She still remembers and holds memory close. so we thought it would be a really great idea to send them papayas. Well,,, all we can only do is be thinking of them while we eat the papayas here in Hawaii,,,.
ケーキは今年は大好きなシンプルチーズケーキを焼きました！オーガニックバレーの卵、クリームチーズにウィッピングクリーム。さすがお味は最高っす！それに、ママジェーンが手作りクッキーとケーキも送ってくれた。This year, I baked cheese cake! Organic Valley's eggs, cream cheese and whipping cream. you can't go wrong!
先日遊びに来てくれたちーぼーにもらったトレイダージョーズのカモミールと一緒に！We are having cheese cake with the Chamomile tea that Chibo gave us!
なんだかんだと朝から食べながら、おしゃべりしながらしてたらお腹がいっぱいになってきた、、、。特別な日にはＢＢＱをする事が多いので今回も準備してたけど、全部食べられそうにもなく、ほんのちょっとＢＢＱにして、ピナコラーダで乾杯することにしました！We kept eating all X-mas day! by dinner time, we barely had room. We were going to BBQ, we always have a BBQ for special days, but this time cooked only a little. 'Kanpai' with Pinna Colada!!
