この日は西半分をドライブしに行く事にしました。まずはカフルイから時計と反対周りに出発。少々雨が降りつつ時には１車線の狭い道をくねくねドライブしていく。反対から来る車とすれ違う時に幅がない場合はどちらかがバックで戻る事になる。この北部のドライブ道はDrive at your own riskと警告されているので、あまり車の運転に慣れていない人は危険な事も。We decided to go for long driving around the west side of Maui! It's said that the road along this north side of Maui is for the most part a narrow,winding one-lane road. Drive at your own risk.

お！スナックアイスクリームスタンドだ！Snack and Ice cream stand! It looks so cute!
あれ？見えるかな？ｸﾛｰﾋﾞｽが崖のど真ん中に牛一頭を発見。さすがウィスコンシンボーイだ。何してるの？登ったはいいけど、降りられないのでは、、、。牧場の人、、、。見つけてくれるといいけど、、、。
Can you see a cow that is in the middle of the cliff! Clovis found it. He has specialized Wisconsin eyes! The cow probably didn't think about how to go down when she went up,,,,,,oh poor cow,,,,,, I hope the ranchers will find her soon,,,.
な～んにもない大自然の中にあるオールドハワイアンビレッジ’カハクロア’を上から眺める。何とも和やかな風景だ！There is nothing beside nature and one old Hawaiian village 'Kahakuloa' on the north side.
あ、またスナック、アイスクリーム屋さんが！Another Snack and Ice cream shop!
お花もかわいい！The flowers are cute too!
わ～なんだか流れ星が山に落ちてきたって感じ！Wow it looks like shooting stars are just landing on the mountain!!
一車線地域を突破してここからは２車線の舗装された道路だ！！After an hour or more of one way driving we got passed the narrow area. Now driving is much easier!!
これは、訪問者によって積み上げられた石だそうだけど、何やらここは聖なる地（重要な地）とされているかららしい。ハワイって色々な神話やフラ（ダンス）などで伝えられるまだまだ未知な世界がいっぱいありそう！The stones are stacked along the road by visitor who believe there is some significance or maybe just to mark where to pull over and get a good view!
これがブローホールか～～波がやってくると穴から一気に噴水のように水が噴く！Oh this is a blow hole! When the wave comes water comes through the hole and becomes like a fountain!
写真はサーフィンの大会なども行われる事が多くサーファーに有名なホノルナベイ。更に５分ぐらいドライブするとそこはリゾート地の入り口！ここからはホリデーで遊びに来る人たちが宿泊している大型ホテル等がたくさん建っている。we arrived at Honoluna Bay, which is famous for surfing. Sometimes there are competitions here. Another 5 minutes driving and we are at the entrance of the resort area. it's where many tourists stay in all the Huge Hotels!!
私たちはラハイナというエリアにやってきた。ここは観光客でもにぎわい、お店やレストランもたくさんある。他の地域が雨でも個々はほとんど晴れた穏やかな 気候。今日はチーズバーガーインパラダイスでチーズハンバーガーを。ここが本店でワイキキにも支店がある。中もビーチフロントのカジュアルなお店という感 じでいい雰囲気！We stopped in Lahaina. There are a lot of shops and restaurants. The weather here is almost sunny everyday, even when it's rainy on the other areas of the island. We went to Cheese burger in Paradise! Inside of the restaurant was casual and tropical looking!
景色も最高！ハワイの旗が風でなびいて青空とマッチしてました！The view is awesome! The state flag, blue sky and ocean matches so well!
サイドディッシュで注文したオニオンリングはかなりのボリューム。４人位で分けると調度いいかも！でもからっとして玉ねぎの甘さが何ともマッチしてグッドでした！チーズバーガーも今日はベーコン入りで！
The side dish Onion ring is huge. You need 4 people to share it with. But it was nice and crunchy with a little bit of sweetness from the Onion. It was good! the huge bacon cheese burger that we split was good too!
ラハイナの町を少しぷらぷらしているとこんな面白い木に出くわした！マウイの木々は枝がこのように複雑なものが多いみたいだ！Walking around Lahaina we found a very interesting shaped tree! Maui has a lot of funny shaped tree though!
町はそろそろクリスマスに向けてデコレーション。今年は久し振りに暖かいクリスマス！Every town has been decorated for Xmas. We are having hot Xmas this year!!カハクロア村の風景 The view of Kahakuloa Village!
