サンクスギビングといえばじゃ～～～ん ターキーの丸焼き！この日は１１月２６日。毎年１１月の第四木曜日はサンクスギビングデー。Thanks Giving day! We can't have thanks giving without turkey!! It is a huge turkey!
どのくらい大きいかというと足の部分ですでにこんなに！デイブンとジュリアはマウイの料理学校に通っているシェフの卵！二人が色々なハーブやスタッフィン（中の詰め物）を準備して焼き上げてくれました！七面鳥のグリル、クランベリーソース添えを初め定番のメニューが並ぶ！How big? It is really big. You can see one leg on my plate. (I shared it with Clovis because it was almost bigger than my face!!)Daven and Julia go to culinary school in Maui they are trianing to be chefs!!!! They cooked the turkey for us. The spices, stuffing and everything was perfect!! And we had many beautiful side dishes!!
そして、スカイとエライジャカップルはお野菜系担当。イライジャはマウイのパイアというウィンドサーフィンでも有名なかなりピップな町の中でシェフをしている。寿司もつくってるよ～。というわけで、ラッキーなことにシェフが３人も！！スクオッシュに、スイートポテトにむらさきいも色もとりどりそして味は絶品。ほんのり香るスパイスが何とも言えない！その他、サラダにワイルドライス入りのブラウンライスデザートにはパンプキンパイ。もっと胃がおっきかったらいいのに～～～～～～～と本当に思った。Skye and Elisha cooked the vegetables. Elisha is a chef at his own sushi Bar/Restaurant in Paia. We are so lucky to have so many talented people around us! Squash, sweet potatoes, Purple potatoes etc,,,,, The way he uses spice is unbelievable. We had more great food like wild rice, Salad, pumpkin pie, guacamole, Salmon, cheese etc. Oh I really wish I had a bigger stomach.....
今回はこのマウイ島のキヘイエリアにあるスカイとイライジャのお家で７人と１匹でサンクスギビングを迎えた。この地域はいつも殆ど晴れていて、穏やかで、とっても過ごしやすいパラダイス。ココナッツの木はあらゆるところにある。Skye and Elisha live in the Kihei area. Most of the time it is sunny and nice weather here in Kihei! There are so many coconuts tree everywhere in maui!
ダイブンが早速カットしてココナッツジュースを飲ませてくれた！みずみずしい自然の味。体にもよさそ～～！Daven cut up some coconuts for us to sample. they had such a natural flavor! It must be good for us!
え？丸ごと飲んじゃうか！贅沢～～～～I got a whole coconut!!!
まるで絵葉書見たい。夕暮れ時には皆でお庭でゲームをしました。It looks like a picture on a post card. we played some games in the garden.
そして夕日をみにビーチの方へ出てみようと。一番右の人がキャリー何だけど、彼女はスカイとデイブンのお母さんで、ほんとにあったかい心の持ち主。彼女は私たちのハウスメートでもあって、なんだかマウイにももう一人お母さんがいるみたい！We decided to go to the beach to watch the sun set. By the way, Carrie (Skye and Davon's mom) is super great mom! She has a big heart. She is also our house mate. I have another mom here in Maui!!
マウイは美しい。気候も自然も最高です！Maui is beautiful! The weather and nature are just gorgeous!!
