ベイビーシャワー！Baby Shower

６月１２日。今日から妊娠３７週目。もう赤ちゃんがいつ出てきてもおかしくない時期に入りました！
ママジェーンが私の為にベイビーシャワーを企画してくれました。ベイビーシャワーと言うのは、出産前に主に女性の友人、家族、同僚などが集まって出産を控える妊婦さんを癒してくれるという何とも素敵なパーティー。I've already begun my 37th week pregnant! The Baby can come out any time now!! Mama Jane planed a Baby shower for me!

初めてのベイビーシャワー体験。わくわく。ベイビーシャワーは人によって色々な企画があるけど、今回はまず大きくなったお腹を義妹のシダローズがペイント をしてくれた！マウイ島にいたころにこのベイビーをお腹に抱えたくさんスノーケリングをしたのと、スキューバーダイビングが大好きな私にはぴったり！ペイ ントをしてくれている間、ベイビーは動きまくり。お腹の青い海はまさに波立ってました！そして、他のお友達はかわいらしいピンクのお花を使って冠を作って くれた！It was of course the first time I had ever been to a baby shower, we don't do it in Japan, so I was very excited! In the beginning, my sister in-law Cedarose, who is a great artist, painted my belly beautifully!!It reminds me of when we were snorkeling in Maui with this baby in my belly! I also love scuba diving so it was the perfect picture for this wonderful event! While she was painting my baby was moving so the ocean on my belly looked like it had waves!! Other friends made a crown for me! I am a Queen!!!

さて、バラの花びらを入れたお湯に足を浸し、皆からマッサージを受ける！う～～～～ん気分最高！Soaking my feet in rose peddle foot bath and getting massage. How nice!
今度はコーンミールを使ったマッサージ。アメリカの原住民の風習で、コーンは食、大地の母ということから自然の力をもらう。ベイビーシャワーだけでなく、色々な行事に使われてきたそうだ。Jane is using cornmeal. This is a Native American culture. corn is used for many different event related to Native Americans.
何よりも次に行われたブレッシング。１０人ほど集まってくれた皆から、スムーズな出産を祈ってもらい、励ましの言葉やアドバイスをいただく。今日こられなかったお友達も気にかけてくれる。この土地に来て３年が過ぎた今、改めてこのコミュニティー、友人、家族に感謝の気持ちでいっぱいになった。なんだか皆が家族みたい。これぞアメリカンファミリー。感動で、心の中は涙があふれる。Then we had the blessing part. the 10 people who came today for me gave me blessings and Advice. It touched my heart a lot. Other friends who couldn't come today also support me a lot as well. I have been here 3 years and I am thankful for all my family, friends and community. I feel like everyone is family in this little town. It's my American family! I felt tears come to my eyes.
皆が持ち寄ってくれたディナー。デザートももちろん頂いた！ナイフとフォークがピンクなのはママジェーンが私がピンクが好きだからと。お寿司やそばを交えた何とも心温まるお料理。田舎ならではなのか、出産後しばらく、お友達や家族が交代で食事を届けてくれたりするらしい。本当にありがたいコミュニティーです。Everyone brought some dinner! Of course we had desert ofter that. Mama Jane got pink knives and forks as this is my favorite color! Even sushi and soba is on the plate! The food was just amazing!
その後は皆からの贈り物を披露！もう、かわいいものがたっくさん！！They are spoiling me so much. They gave us so many presents!
ベイビーシャワーを経て、出産への気持ちの準備が整った。本当に素敵なイベントだと思う。何とお礼を言っていいのか、、、。アメリカに来て、こんなに素晴らしい体験ができたのも、ママジェーンを初め、周りのみんなのおかげ。この町は、暖かい心があふれている。ますますウィスコンシンが好きになった。私も皆にできる事をしてあげたいと、心から思った。
After this event, I feel I am ready for the birth even if it's a difficult birth. I have such supportive people around. I can't thank the people of this community enough. I am getting to be a bigger fan of this little town. Thank you thank you thank you.
