早朝5時45分。目ざましがなった。起きて着替えてすぐに家を出た。空にはまだまだたくさん輝く星たちが。マウイに来てからこんなに早起きした事ってあっ たっけ？！いやいや、一度もない。でも今日は違う！かれこれ6回目を迎えるバレンタインデーのスペシャルトリップ。今までメキシコ、オーストラリア、日本ウィスコンシンとバレンタインデーを過ごしたけど、今回はハワイのマウイ島！前から行ってみたかったモロキニ島へスノーケル、クジラのツ アーに参加！（妊婦はダイビング出来ないからね、、、残念）モロキニ島は、火山活動によってできたクレーターが半分水没して今では三日月型の島となり、海 面に浮かんでいるという。7時。いよいよ船に乗り込む。空もだんだん明るくなってきた！At 5:45 in the morning our alarm clock woke us up. We got dressed and left home. There were still many star in the sky, we could see the southern cross as we drove. I wonder if I have ever got up this early since we came to Maui. Well no, not even once. But today, We are taking a boat trip to Molokini for Valentines day! Molokini is a crescent-shaped, partially submerged volcanic crater which forms a small islet. 7:00am on board!! It's getting lighter!
まずは朝ご飯！パパイヤ、スターフルーツ、パイナップルにココナッツマフィン、クリームチーズを挟んだベーグル！Breaky time! Star fruits, Papaya, Pineapple, Coconuts muffin and bagels with cream cheese!
モロキニ島までは訳40分。マウイには12月～4月ごろまでザトウクジラが子作りにやってくる。ボートはクジラを邪魔しないのが鉄則。クジラのアクションが収まるまでしばらく止まってっと。It takes about 40 min to get to Molokini. Lots of humpback whales come to Maui between December and April for making babies. they are extremely active this time of year! Before we got to Molokini we had to wait until whales got out of our way safely. They protect them well here on Maui! 
8時ごろ。え～～～こんなに朝早く海に入ったらいくらマウイでも冬だし寒いんじゃ、、、。でもモロキニ島でのスノーケルやダイビングのベストは朝。上半身の長袖ウェットスーツが＄１０でレンタルがあった。ベイビーの為にもここは、レンタルするか～と、これがまた正解。このツアーでは2か所合計2時間ぐらいのスノーケル時間があるので、海の水がそこまで冷たくなくても、体は冷えてくるからね。モロキニ島でのスノーケルでは久し振りにサメを見た！透明度もとっても良かった。今度はダイビングで挑戦したいものだ！It was still 8 O'clock in the morning. Oh,,,, it is bit cold to get into water,,,,, but morning is the best time for snorkeling or diving. I rented a wet suits ($10) which was a very good idea. During this trip, we have about 2 hours total for snorkel time. It is very important to keep your self warm. The visibility was awesome and we saw a shark!
さて、モロキニ島から今度は本土の岸に近いところでウミガメが良く出没するスポットへ移動。Then we went to another location where it is common to see Hawaii green turtles! 
じゃ～ん！早速現れた！今回は水中カメラなしなので地上からのみで。結局3匹ぐらいのウミガメに出くわすことができた。それに海の中ではクジラの歌う声が聞こえる！歌はオスがメスにアプローチするために歌われているそうだ。うわ～同じ海を泳いでるんだな～と実感。Yes! we saw one right away!!! We saw a couple of turtles and could hear the whale's singing while we snorkeled!!! We were all swimming in the same ocean!!
私たちがスノーケルをしているうちに、スタッフがボートの上でＢＢＱ。While we were snorkeling, tour staff made our lunch! They have a BBQ on the boat! Great!
チキンバーガー、ホットドック、それに自家製パスタサラダ。ファーストフードとは違って、お味もかなりいけてました！焼きたてだしね～～～～！！このツアーはＮＰＯのパシフィックウェイルファンデーションが主催しているので、さすが、お皿やフォークも洗って使い回しが可能なもの、そしてコップやナプキンはリサイクル可能なもの、エコに徹底している。http://www.pacificwhale.org/mauiecocruises/
Yummy Yummy Yummy! Chicken burger, hot dog, homemade pasta salad. Everything was great! Pacific Whale Foundation is NPO and they provide totally ECO tours. All Forks and plates are washable, paper item are biodegradable.
ハレアカラもくっきりと現れた。みんなクジラに出会える事を期待して、、、、、。すると We were excited to see whales with the beautiful Haleakala volcano behind.
うわ～～～～出てきた！しかも周りには6匹ぐらいグループでいる！Oh!!!! Here they are!! Even 6 of them!!!

そしてしっぽ。う～動いているクジラを取るのは難し～でもまずまずでしょ！！マウイではどのジュエリーショップもクジラのテールアクセサリーは欠かせません！納得！
子作りの時期なのでクジラの動きも活発！特にこの時期。マウイに来たらクジラウォッチングは欠かせません！岸からも見えるけど、やっぱりボートで近くまで行くのがお勧め！

And tail!! It is hard to take photos while they are moving but I am satisfied with my little camera!! Maui has a lot of Jewelery shops. Most of them have Whale tail designs. It would be a great souvenir or memory of Maui for you and your friends!
We had a fantastic Valentines adventure!!!
