バンブーハウス Bamboo House

マウイ島の東。この日はミスターサステイナブルと呼んでも過言ではないステフさんのお宅の取材に付いて行った。We visited Mr Sustainable Steph's house on the east side of Maui.

キッチンからの眺めはこんな感じ。しっかり海も見える！それにキッチンガーデンが目の前だから自分で育てたお野菜をすぐに調達することができる。This is the view from the kitchen! An ocean horizon with a kitchen garden just in front. You can just grab some fresh organic vegetables or herbs and make dinner right there!!
棚には敷地内に育てたフルーツの木からとれたバナナやココナッツ、グレープフルーツ、スターフルーツ、ランプータン、アボガド、ガーデンでとれたターメリックや生姜があった。今は冬なので少なめだけど、夏になるとフルーツがもっともっと取れるらしい。Steph has beautiful fruits trees. his fruits are just amazing. Banana, Coconuts, grapefruits, star fruits, lappaceums, Avocados, ginger and turmeric! He said now there are less fruits because of Winter but in Summer he will have so many fruits!

こ～んなにお土産を頂いてしまった！He gave us such a great present!
ココナッツを割って植物の茎をストローにしてくれた！He crack a coconuts and put a plant stem in it as a straw!

このアボカド。木から調度落ちたころが食べごろということでまさにその瞬間をキャッチして割ってみました。このつやと鮮やかな色。見ているだけでもおいしそう！もちろん試食。本当に今までにない、最高のアボカドでした。こんな自然たっぷりの環境で、オーガニックで育てられたフルーツやお野菜。通りでおいしいわけだ！Look at this avocado. He just caught an avocado that was just falling off the tree! He says this is the best time to eat them. We cut it and tasted it and it was unbelievable. It is the best avocado I ever had! his fruits and vegetable grow on organic land with no chemicals, just naturally. I see why they are so tasty! If we are nice to the land it make great stuff!!
私がたくさん試食しているうちにインタビューはすでに進んでいた。Oh, clovis' interview has started!
外見は日本の家をイメージしているらしい。He has a Japanese style roof on his house.
殻のボトルをバケツ代わりに使って、石を集めてお家のデコレーション材料にしていく。これもステフ自らやっている。このエリアは電気が通っていないので電気は全てソーラーシステムを使い、お水は泉から引いてきて、食材はほとんど自分で育てる。まさに彼はミスターサステイナブル！
Nice bucket! He collect rocks and decorate his land. There is no electricity so he uses a solar system. Bamboo house, solar system, water from spring, grow his own food. Yes he is Mr. Sustainable Steph!
