たま～に、蜂蜜やメープルシロップを食べている時、歯が痛む。でも１か月に１回あるかないか。海外での歯医者さんはたいてい特別な保険をかけていない限りカバーしていないし、ちょっと怖いし、あまり行きたくない歯医者さん。ところが、妊娠期間中はドクター訪問はもちろん、その他医療機関、更には歯医者さんもカバーをしてくれるという保険を政府が補助してくれている！！ラッキ～～～～ということで歯医者さんの予約をしてみた。どうやらマウイコミュニティーカレッジの敷地内にあるらしい。何もサインが出ていないので、学生に聞いて見たら、’その道をずっと行くとデンタルトレーラーが見えると思うよ。’って。？？？トレーラー？I have been having some pain from eating honey, maple syrup or other sweets. But it is only once every month or so. I am not a big fan of going to the dentist but since I got pregnant, my insurance will cover my dental needs too. Well, I better get checked, So I made an appointment. They said they are at the community college of Maui but where ,,,,, I thought there would be a sign or something. but nothing so we asked a student where the dentist is. She said ' I think you go this way and you will see a dentist trailer. ???? trailer????

もちろん青空待合室。歯医者さんの待合室ってあのき～～～～っていう音がしたりで、怖い感じだけど、外の空気を吸いながらのーんびり待てるのは何とも快適！The waiting room is of course under the sky. It is much more
comfortable than a normal dentist waiting room!
病院に行くと書く書類にいつも’ホームレスですか？’という質問がある。いつも答えはＮＯでありたい。でも現実そんな人々がたくさんいるんだろうな～と。

中は小ぢんまりとした診療室。写真付き身分証明書としてウィスコンシンの運転免許証をだしたら、先生はウィスコンシンに結構住んでいたということから話が盛り上がって、受付のお姉さんはお話し好きの地元っ子ハワイアン。いろんなお話をしてから忘れていたかのように、あ、治療しようかと。結局レントゲンも取ってくれたのに、どこも悪くないと。一体何だったんだろう。ま、とりあえずチェックしてもらったし。いっか～。歯のクリーニングは、担当者がいないので今日はできないからウェイティングリストに載せてもらった。これも＄３０でできるらしい。バスの中の歯医者さん。このモバイル歯医者さん、雰囲気も人もかなり暖かく、リラックスしていて居心地良かった！Inside is nice and cozy. when they saw on my driving license that we are from Wisconsin they were so excited! The dentist used to live in Wisconsin for a while. The receptionist is a local lady. We talked about Wisconsin, Hawaii and everything in between. for a while we where chatting so much that we all forgot why I was there! we better start checking my teeth. He took X-ray and said there is no
problem. Well,,,,,,,, that's nice! It was the coolest dentist office ever!! Nice and relaxed!! hawaii style!!
