セムク シャンペイ１日ツアー Ｓｅｍｕｃ Ｃｈａｍｐｅｙ Ｏｎｅ ｄａｙ Ｔｏｕｒ

2/6ツアーでグアテマラで最も美しいところと言われているセムクシャンペーへ。泊まっているホテルの朝食。コンチネンタル（ホームメイドブレッド、ジャム、バター、フルーツサラダ）かティピコ（トルティーヤ、卵、ビーンズ、ハム、チーズのプレート）が選べてコーヒー付き。８時ごろにホテルにお迎えが来て出発。今回は６人＋フィンがお客さんでツアーガイド１名。スタートしたばかりなのにガソリンスタンドによってしばらく止まりその後もう一つのガソリンスタンドでどうやらバスの入れかえ。何やらタイヤがパンクしているらしい。でも入れ返したバスの人たちは私たちが乗ってきたバスへ。え？？？！パンクしたまま走るのかーーーー？？！！さすがグアテマラ、、、。2/6 7 O'clock in the morning we had breakfast at the hotel we stayed. The tour is included Breakfast. You can choose Continental or Tipico and coffee. 8 O'clock the tour bus picked us up from the Hotel. Within a couple of minutes we stopped at a gas station and waited for a minutes then we stopped at another gas station soon again. ??!! We swapped the buses and they said that the bus we were on has flatter tire so we changed but the people who had have been on the other bus were on the bus we just swapped.... ???!!!
コバンの町からはくねくねした山の道を２時間半ほどドライブします。山の景色はほんと、素晴らしい！Anyway, we are safe now. Look! it is beautiful mountain view!!
そしてランキンという町まで到着後、４ｘ４のトラックに乗り換えてさらにくねくね、がたがたの道を２０分ほど進みます。席はなく、みんなトラックの後ろに立ち乗り。さすが。この町に泊まってセムクシャンペイに行く人の方が多いようだ。４ｘ４のみの場合は片道Ｑ２０（$約２．５）だからかなり安上がりになる。After 2.5 hours driving in the mountain, we arrived in Linquin then we were going to Semuc Champey by 4x4. As you see there are no seat so we were all stood up in the back! Hold on tight!!! It seems like most people stay here in Linquin then go to Semuc Champey. The 4x4 is only Q20 one way.
さ、みんな手すりにしっかりつかまらないと落っこちちゃうよーーーーー！上下に揺れが激しいのでおなかの赤ちゃんもビックやったやろうなーーーとりあえず体をばねのように車の動きと一緒に動かして支えてました。特に問題はなかったみたい！ほっ！Keep holding tight everyone!!! Up and down the whole way about 20 minutes. I was like a car suspension of my baby!!
川が見えてきた！もうすぐのはず！フィンを抱っこしていたクロービスはさすがにこのがたがた道、つらかった、、、、。とりあえず到着！It's nearly there!! I can see the river! Clovis held Finn in the front with a baby carrier so he got little sick from the bumpy road,,,, Thanks daddy,,,,,
ツアーの他の人たちは１時間１５分ほどのハイキングで高台からこの川の眺めを見に行ったけど、足もともかなり滑りやすくなっているようだったので私たちは、滝坪で泳ぐことができるところへ。うわーーー素敵なターコイズ色！Other people hiked up to the look out that takes about 1 hour and 15min. Because the hiking trail is bit slippery and steep, we skipped and went to the water falls instead. Look!! it is amazing color!!!


このあたりは降水量がとっても多い地域。大量の水が地面の下に自然とトンネルを作り、流れ込み、のちに合流するという不思議な地形を作りだたそうです。The water made a tunnel underneath!
水の流れによってできただろうと思われる地形がいろんなところで見えました。There are lot of interesting shape of wall made by water!

お魚さんに夢中！He loved fish!!

雨が降りやすい地域だったけど、水遊びをしているときには太陽も照り最高！It has rain almost everyday but while we were swimming it was just wonderful weather!! フィンは水遊びに夢中で、そろそろ時間だけどかえりたくなーーーいとだだこねこね、、、。もう時間だから仕方ないよーー。さ、また４ｘ４のトラックに乗ってリンキンまで。帰りは私とフィンだけトラックの助手席に座らせてもらった。ちょうど雨がざーーーーーっとスコールのように降ってきて、後ろに立ち乗りしている人たちはビニールカバーのようなものをかぶってしのんでいたみたい、、、。大変そう、、、途中で乗ってきた人は赤ちゃん連れ、、、。雨は長くは続かなかったのでよかったけど、、、。この後その近くにある洞窟を見に行くのですが、危うくトラックにカメラを置いてきてしまった私、、、がーーーーん、、、、思い出がたくさん詰まってるのに、、、。するとどうにか連絡がついて、カメラがあったという事がわかり、クロービスとフィンはみんなと一緒に洞窟へ。私はカメラを取りにバスドライバーと共に５分ほど車で戻る。なんて迷惑野郎だ、、、、。反省、、、。ドライバーにチップを渡そうとしていたらむこうからちゃっかりカメラと引き換えにとせがまれた。チップってありがとうの気持ちを込めて渡すものだと思ってるけど、せがまれるといい気はしないなーーー。
ツアー料金　Ｑ２８０　朝食、ランチ付き（サンドウィッチ、クッキー、リンゴ付き）　ツアーガイド同行。（ガイドといっても説明はあまりなかったから、ガイドついてなくても別にいいかなーーーという感じはした。）朝７時から夜７時まで１日ツアー、満喫でした！ほんとここはグアテマラの中でもお勧め！Finn really loved to play in the water and didn't want to go home,,, but we had to,,,,. Finn and I sat in the front seat of the 4x4 this time but others are in the back standing. We had heavy rain they put a plastic cover until the rain's gone. A lady who had a baby with her was also in the back,,, they got on the track on the way to Linquin and there were no more seats available,,,, the tour was included a cave which is 5 min away from Linquin. But I just realized that I forgot my CAMERA in the 4x4..... Oh no------- so many photos are in it,,,, but they contacted each other and they found my camera so I went back to Linquin with our driver while others went for the cave. I was so glad that I can have my camera back!　
The tour was Q280 /pp includes breakfast, lunch(Sandwiches, apple, cookies), transport, the cave, Semuc Champey and tour guide. ( the tour guide didn't have much information about the places where we went though)　　7am TO 7pm It was a great trip!!

チチカステナンゴマーケット the Chichicastenango Market

2/3朝になってクロービスの調子がちょっと良くなったので、せっかくのマーケットだからと、とりあえず出くわした。2/3 The following morning, Clovis was feeling little better so we went to check out the market since we came for it!
マーケットはさすが。すごい広域にわたってたくさんの作品が並ぶ。食べ物から手作り工芸品、手織りの布、バック、木製の家具やらアート作品。メキシコ、エジプト、東南アジアでのマーケットというと友達プライスといって、興味ないものでもなんでも売りつけにくるイメージがあって疲れるなーと思うこともあったけど、グアテマラのマーケットでは比較的落ち着いて作品をみることができたと思う。本当にこった作品もたくさんあって、荷物の事を考えなくていいなら是非とも買いたいものもたくさんあった。It is a huge market! It is like a maze! Many beautiful hand made art crafts and cloths are there. In general, Sometimes I get annoyed by people saying 'Amigo price!' even I am not interested in the things they are trying to sell but I think Guatemala is less aggressive which is great!

ちょうど教会行事に出くわした。クロービスがおなか壊してちょっと苦い思い出のチチマーケット。でも素敵な作品がたくさん並ぶし、マーケット好きの人にはとってもお勧めのところです。
この後、北上してネバハという小さな伝統的な姿がまだまだ残る町に行こうと思ったけど、何となく大きな町に行ったほうがよい予感がしたので、急きょアンティグアへ行くことに決めた。具合が悪い時には、いざというときに病院やら薬やら、外人向けのお医者さんがいる方が無難かと、、、。多くの町には旅行代理店があってバスなども手配ができるけど、アンティグアまでのバスを地元の人に聞いた。バス停というサインも何もないところで待ってバスに拾ってもらう。スタート地点じゃなかったけど幸い席に座れた！ラッキー。チマルテナンゴというところで乗り換え。バスを降りたところからは５０ｍほど歩き、次のバスへ。チキンバスは２０分置きぐらいに出ているので、乗り継ぎのタイミングはそんなに難しくない。

アンティグアに着きまたまたホテル探し。バスはマーケットの近くに泊まるので、そこから歩いて町へ。サンペドロに行くときにバスを乗り継いだ旅行代理店Onvisa Travel Agency に併設のホステルがあったので、そこに泊まることにした。ミニキッチンがあって、哺乳瓶も洗えるし、ミネラルウォーターの提供も無制限。なかなか快適です。お部屋にはベットが３つも。個室バスルーム共同で１泊Ｑ１２0（＄１５）。ツアーデスクもすぐそこで、旅のアレンジも簡単なのでお勧め。

Something is happening at the church! Well it was bit hard time for us here in Chichi market as Clovis had food poison but for sure it is a great market!! Well we were going to Nebaj next but we changed our mind. We wanted to go somewhere bigger city that has access to a hospital that has English speaker even we were not planning on going to a hospital. It just made us feel safer somehow at that time so we decided to go to Antigua instead. We took a chicken bus to Chimaltenango@35 and took another bus to Antigua. Q5 Though it was bit hard time for us while we were staying in Chichi since Clovis got sick but for sure, if you are big fun of Markets, this is worth trip!
アンティグアの町にはレストランチョイスもたくさん！ラザニアをチョイス！体が弱っているときはチーズがほしくなるクロービス。そしてフィンももりもり食べました。宿のそばにあるレインボーカフェは８時からライブがやっています。フィン、ミルク片手に夢中。
There are a lot of restaurant in Antigua. Since Clovis had have been sick, we got LasagnaQ55. Cheese saved him. And Finn loved it too. Rainbow cafe where we had dinner has live from 8PM most of the nights!

スリ経験
このチマルテナンゴからアンティグアまでのチキンバスで初めてすりにあいそうになった！！！電車やバスでのスリや痴漢はかなり近めに座ってきて、ジャケットで自分とターゲットの人の膝あたりを多い、何気なく手を伸ばしてかばんから財布をとったり、ちかんなら、触ってきたりという手口を使う。他の席が空いているのに何故か私の隣に無理して座りに来た男。通路を挟んだ隣の女の人と会話をしていたので、この人と連れだからかなと初めはそんなに疑わず。ふと自分の鞄をみると半分開いている。でもこのかばん、長年使っているのでファスナーが少し壊れているところがあるので、もしかしたら自然と開いたのかもといったん占める。その２０分ほど後、何となく隣の人は初めからうさんくさいと思っていたけど、ジャケットが気になって不安がよぎり、ちらりとジャケットの下をのぞいてみると、見事この男の手が私の鞄の中に！！！狭いバスの中、ナイフを持っていたらどうしよう、、、。フィンもおなかの赤ちゃんもいるし、、、、。でもとりあえず’なにしてんねーーーーん’と叫んでみた。男は、’やってへんやってへん’という。なにーーーー今まさに私みたやんかーーーー！！！クロービスも同じことを考えていて、フィンを抱いてるし、今はとりあえずバスからこの男を追い出すことが優先ト思い、スペイン語でこの男にバスから出ろと一言言うと男は動いているバスの後ろのドアから飛び降りた。周りの人も、’赤ちゃん連れてる人から何か盗もうとはけしからんねーーー’と口々に男の事を批難。スリには気をつけねば！幸い何も取られていなかったみたい。
Pick Pocket
Most of the time during traveling in Guatemala, we felt quite safe but when I took a chicken bus from Chimaltenango to Antigua, the seat was for 2 people but sometimes when it is crowded people squeeze and 3 people can sit maximum. One guy tried to sit next me even more seat available and started chatting with a lady near him so I thought they are friends. I had some bad feeling with this guy but well I just ignored my feeling. I just noticed my bag was half open one point but since my bag is bit old and the fastener was half broken so I just closed. about 20 minutes later, I had really bad feeling again.His jacket was cover over one of my leg and his I was getting more suspicious about this guy and peaked under the jacket. I saw the guys hand was in my bag!!!!! Wow it is real! 'What are you doing??!!' He said 'No no no!!' What's NO??!!This is unmistakable!!! Then Clovis told the guy to get off the bus. Then the guy jump off from the bus even the bus was running. The Guatemalan people around us was saying 'Con bebe??!! No credo!!!!'Well I would say we just need to be careful... it is the same as anywhere not only Guatemala. I still like Guatemala though.

ついに、、、。 It came to us finally,,,

2/2 朝お隣のザックファミリーのキャビンをノックしてみると、何とベイビーサトリが一晩中ひどい食あたりっぽい症状を起こしていたとのことで、すぐにXelaの町の病院へ。後で連絡が来て、サトリちゃんはとりあえず落ち着いたとのことだったのでほっとした。ザックファミリーはグアテマラに来てすぐ食あたりを起こし、まだ母乳を飲んでいるサトリちゃんにも影響が徐々に出始めていたらしい。2/2 Baby Satori was sick all night,,,, they took her to the hospital in Xela in the morning,,, Oh no,,,,,, they had bad luck with foods since they arrived and now Satori got sick,,,, later they called and Satori seemed O.K.
私たちは朝食をとって、温泉にもう一度つかり、次の目的地を相談した結果、チチカステナンゴというグアテマラ最大のマーケットがあるところに向かうことにした。Well we had breakfast and soaked again then packed up for next destination. Well since Zack's family won't be with us any more we made different plan. We are going to Chichicastenango that is famous for a biggest market in Guatemala. (Every Thursday and Sunday)


まずはＺｕｎｉｌというところまでは公共の交通機関がないので、トラックをチャーター。（１日数回乗合ミニバスもでている）Ｑ５０（約＄６）そこからチキンバスに拾ってもらってシェーラの町まで約３０分。トラックは荷物と一緒に後ろにのって景色を十分楽しみました！フィンパラダイス！シェーラからチチカツテナンゴまではチキンバスで約３時間Ｑ３０ほど。今回のバスの運転士さんはびゅんびゅんアグレッシブに飛ばしていった。一番前の席でフロントガラスが目の前の私たち。かなりのスリルでした！We took a truck to Zunil and took a chicken bus to Xela then took another chicken bus to Chichi. It took about 3 hours. The driver was extra aggressive driving and our seat was in the front!! It was like a roller coaster!!

バスを降りて、ホテルを探し、ひと段落ついたところで夕食を。うわー、屋台がいろいろでてる！Finally we arrived Chichi and found a hotel then went for dinner. Wow lots of street foods!!
長旅だったしかるく屋台ですませて明日のマーケットに備えるかー。まずはグリンガと名付けられたお肉とお野菜、チーズが小麦粉のトルティーヤに包まれたもの。Ｑ１０ Gets some food and we really wanted to go to bed early. We had Flour tortillas with cheese, meat and vegetable which is called 'Gringa'Q10
そしてこちらは、トルティーヤを揚げたような感じのものにサラダとソースが乗ったもの。Ｑ５。
グアテマラに来て初めて、地元の子供がディナーを買ってくれとずっと付きまとわれた。
なんだかちょっとやるせない気持ち、、、。
この町のマーケットは木曜日と日曜日。サンペドロ、アンティグア、シェラなど、あらゆるところから日帰りで来る人も多いけど、もう少し北上を予定していた私たちは１泊してまた次に進もうと思います！かなり疲れた日だったので早めにベットへ。ところが、、、、。クロービス、ついに食あたり、、、。一晩苦しみました、、、。同じものを食べた私とフィン。妊婦に赤ちゃん、、、。やばい、、、と思ったけど、私たちはなんともなかったみたい。クロービス、、、かわいそうだったけど、３人の中で一番被害を受けても大丈夫な人は君だったから、、、。ちょっとビビってしまった私たち、、、。この先はストリートフードはなしで行こう。And Fried corn tortillas with salad and source. Q5 It's quite good! You can come to the Chichi market from Antigua, San Pedoro, Xela etc as a day tour but we planed to go little farther north so we stay over night then go north this time! Well ,,,,, middle of the night,,,,, Clovis had really hard time,,,,,, from the foods,,, finally it happened to us too,,,,, Finn and I ate the same foods,,,, oh no,,,,, we are pregnant and baby,,,, but we were fine,,, No more street foods for us just to be safe,,,, I guess,,, but they look always yummy,,,,.

サンペドロのサンデーＢＢＱ Sunday BBQ in San Pedoro

1/30 今日は日曜日なのでホストファミリーは教会に行く日でご飯なし。てな訳で朝からカフェを求めて町の中心の方へ。あれ？！トウモロコシがあるいてる？！いやいや、人がしょって歩いてたんですねー。重たそう！1/30 The host family goes to church every Sunday so we were looking for a cafe for Breaky! On the way to the center, ??? what's that?! Is is moving corn??!! Well a guy was currying corn stems!! Wow it must be heavy!!!



フローレスを歩いていたときに子供連れのカップルに出くわした。お母さんは何とウィスコンシンラクロス周辺で育ったんだってー！！！そしてサンペドロの町でまた再会！カフェを探していたら偶然また出くわしたので一緒に朝食を！ほとんどのカフェはやはり日曜日。閉まってた。フィンはやっぱり年上の女の子にもてもて。またキスされちゃったーーー！We met this family when we were in Flores. They have a daughter who is similar age as Finn and the mom is from La Crosse area!!!! Wow then we saw them a couple of times in San Pedoro. The morning, we saw them on the street and we had breaky together! How nice!

少しお家へ。後ちょっとしか一緒にいられないねー。Then we went back home until lunch time. Finn really enjoyed with the host sister and brother!! This is the last day!!!


そろそろアメリカンの食事が恋しくなった私たちにはもってこいのサンデーバーベキューをシアシャが紹介してくれたのでランチにみんなで行くことにした！なんともでかいプレート。これ、一人分？！いや、絶対二人分はある！！Q80（約１０ドル）その他デザートにはBlackberry CobblerQ15もとってもおいしかったーー！We were missing American food and look!! This is perfect!! It's huge!! One whole plate of side dish and 3 kinds of meat! Q80 and we had Blackberry Cobbler for desertQ15 which is also yummy!

通常はプールの利用はQ20.日曜日はこうしてBBQを求めてやってくる人たちでいっぱい！旅行者や語学学校で勉強中の人、そしてここが気に入って住みついている人たちが集まる。Many travelers comes here on Sunday seeking this BBQ! Yes I understand now this is such a treat!!
お隣には滑り台とブランコがあったので地元っ子に交じってフィンは楽しんでました！サンペドロでの最後の日。とってもおいしいもの食べてとってもリラックスできました！！さ、明日は移動の日！Finn loves play ground of course. Our last day of San Pedoro was nice and relaxed!!

グアテマラ天然温泉と渓谷カヌー Natural hot spring and canion canoe trip in Guatemala

1/19朝８時３０分送迎ボートで町へ。Rio Dulceの町自体はメインストリートにお店が立ち並び車の通りも忙しい。1/19 We took a boat to Rio Dulce. The town itself is quite busy.
Rio DulceからEl Estorという町にはミニバスが走っているので、今日はこの間にあるホテルの人お勧めスポットを訪れることに！It became one of our favorite day trip in Guatemala! We took minibus to one of the most beautiful hot spring spot in the world!!
バスで約４５分Q１５約＄２。バスから降りて川沿いを１０分ぐらいハイキング。About 45 min minibus ride we took a little hike.
川の向こう側では地元の人たちが川で洗濯してる姿が。川や湖の近くで生活しているカントリーサイドに住んでいる人達はこうして川、湖を使って洗濯するのがまだまだ多くみられるグアテマラ。Look! People are doing laundry in the river! People who live near lake or river in a country side, they still do this style in Guatemala!
なんだか和むこの風景！Wow houses are cute!

Finca El Paraisoに到着！１２メートルほどの滝に流れているのは温泉！Here we are!! Hot waterfall drops about 12 m into a clear deep pool!
滝坪は冷たい水だけど泳いで滝のお湯を浴びることができる。でも滝壺は足が届かないのでフィンを連れていくわけにはいかない、、、。なにより私は温泉にどっぷりつかりたーーーい！と思っているとどうやら滝のてっぺんに天然の温泉プールがあって登って行けるということを聞いたのでさっそく写真のやじるしのところを木の根っこにつかまりながらよじ登り、Well,,, the pool is deep so we can't really take Finn with us,,,, but people told us that we can climb up to the top of the water fall and there is a natural pool so that we can soak!! Well I am pregnant and we have 18months old son. Of course we did it!!
滝のてっぺんにある天然温泉プールへフィンもつれて無事到着！妊婦、１８か月の息子、ここまで来て温泉入らないわけにはいきません！温度はほんとちょうどよく、１時間ほどゆっくり温泉浴！まさに天然の温泉。最高! It was one of the best hot spring in my life! It is completely natural!!
思わず温泉で長いしたので、おなかがすいてきた。予定を変更してEl Estorという町に行き、まずは腹ごしらえ！町並みはとっても情緒あふれるって感じで素敵だった！バスで２０分ぐらい。Q10（たぶんもう少し安いんだろうけど言われるがままに払った。）We were getting hungry so we went to the town called El Estor to get some lunch. About 20 by bus (Q10 probably little less usually)
町の公園近くのここまた地元の人であふれるレストランカフェCafe Portarにてランチを。ランチメニューQ25（約＄３）３つの中からチョイス、その他メニューはなし。麺は塩焼そばのような感じだった。お肉とお野菜のスープは出汁よく出ていて、ほんとおいしかったーーー。久しぶりにお野菜もたくさんとれたし大満足！Cafe Portar near the park. Many local people were eating at this restaurant! Good sign! Well menu is only 3 lunch. We choose noodle and beef soup! The noodle was like Asian noodle and the soup was absolutely delicious!! And it had a lot of vegetable too!
コカコーラってほんとグローバルなのねーーー。でも味が少し違うような気がする。アメリカのよりも気持ちさっぱりしてるような？！コーラはQ５瓶に入ってるのって懐かしいし、缶より全然好き！といっても私は甘い炭酸飲料あんまり好きじゃないねんけどね。たまーーーにクロービスが飲むときにちょっともらうぐらい。Coca Cola is global. But the taste is bit different (we think). It is less gummy. And the grass bottle is always better! Q5 I am not big fun of pops though.
さ、今度はRio Dulceに戻るような感じでバスに乗ること１０分。バスは頻繁に出ているのでちょうど出発するバスの係がひたすら呼びかけていてバスを降りた場所がまた乗り場になる。（Q5）この谷の渓谷でカヌートリップ！We took another minibus about 10 min (toward back to Rio Dulce) Q5 and look! we are going to take canoe ride at the valley!

El Boqueronの入り口サインでバスを降りる。５０ｍぐらい進むと Mini bus dropped us off at the sign of El Boqueron.
地元の１２歳前後の男の子が二人。えーーっと、、、カヌーに乗れるって聞いたんだけどーーーというと、”僕たちが案内するんです！”って。？？！！君たちが？！OK----じゃ、よろしくーーー！カヌーはかなり安定感がなかったので、ちょっとドキドキしながら。カヌートリップ約３０分大人Q１５子供（赤ちゃん含める）Q１０
2 Guatemalan kids were sitting down and we asked about canoe. They said "We are the one!!" Wow O.K. they look around 12 years old! The canoe was very unstable so we were bit worried.


Sause川上流にカヌーを彼らが漕いでくれる。その景色はほんと素晴らしい！But the canoe ride was fantastic! It was unbelievable! We really recommended this day trip if you are in Rio Dulce or El Estor!!

まだまだ遊び足りないフィンはバスを待っている間も水遊び！今日紹介した場所はグアテマラの旅の中で、一押しスポットです！Finn is always seeking fun stuff, so are we!
