Neighbourhood Party at Newton Valley! ご近所さんパーティー

今日はご近所さんパーティー！ベイビーから大人まで沢山の人がやってきました。ホストブラザーのデリックとみなみちゃんは、日本のアニメ’ナルト’の話で盛り上がっている様子。日本の漫画はアメリカでもかなり人気で、アメリカにも少年ジャンプがあるとは、、、、驚きです！
We had a Neighbourhood party in Newton Valley! Around 30 people came!
Minami and Deric were excited about talking Japanese comic ' Naruto'. It's very popular in japan and also in the USA!! He knows every single story, and can tell you them!!
みんなが持ち寄ったお料理に囲まれて！！またまた沢山おいしいものを食べました！
みなみちゃんとホストシスターはワイルドフラワーを摘んで素敵なデコレーションをしてくれました！
Lot's of yummy foods and again we ate to much! Minami and her host sister Laurel picked wild flowers for decoration!! It's cute!!
夜に雨が降るかも知れないという事でテントを張ることに！
And we put a big tent up just in case it rains!


近所のお子茶ま達も集まってきた。食後はもちろんあぶりマショマロ！みんなで枝を用意して！
Of course we roasted marshmallows on the fire!!
みなみちゃんは初の挑戦！それぞれ黒焦げにしたほうが好きな人と、こんがりブラウン程度が好きな人と、焼き方も様々！日本ではよくお焦げは食べるとがんになる！！！といわれてきたような記憶があるけど、アメリカではおなかを掃除してくれるといわれているらしい。
Some people like it burnt and some people like it just brown. Japanese people say if we eat burnt part (charcoal), we might get cancer but American say it will clean your stomach!

夜になって予定通り雨が降ってきたけど大きなテントの下でみんなで夜更けまでおしゃべり。みなみちゃんは明日の朝は鶏小屋で卵ひろいをする予定！
ちなみにこの毎日の日課となるファームでの卵ひろいやデイリーファームでのミルク絞り、これらは'Chores'といいますよ～～～～！
It started raining and lightning as we expected but we were all dry under the tent! It went on until midnight!!
