グアテマラに行ってきます！ We are going to Guatemala!!

アメリカ時間１月１５日から２月１０日までグアテマラの度に行ってまいります！その間、ザリトルカントリースクールへのメールのお返事を返すことができません。２月１１日以降なるべく早くご返答させていただきますので、よろしくお願いいたします。We are going to Guatemala tomorrow!! We will be back on Feb 10th so if you send an e-mail to the little country school while we are in Guatemala, we will get back to you as soon as we come home. Thanks for your understanding.

フィンも大好きなエルモのスーツケースを持って準備満々！いよいよ明日飛行機へ乗って初めての海外の旅。Finn got his own suits case!!?? It's ELMO his favorite! It will be his first trip to abroad! フィン用のクッキーもたくさん焼いてこれから最終的なパッキング。I baked plenty of Finn's cookies and now we are going final packing!
しばらくこの真っ白になったウィスコンシンの雪景色ともお別れ。今のうちにそり遊びしておくか！と、クロービスとフィンは表でそりを楽しみました。It's time to say good bye to Wisconsin snow! Clovis and Finn enjoyed the sledding today!
そしてようやくクリスマスツリーデコレーションを片付けました。まだ生きている木。せっかくだから外に立てておこう。鳥さん達が楽しんでくれるといいなー。Finally we took the Xmas decoration. Well the tree is still alive so we put out side for birds to enjoy it!!
さ、いよいよバックパックに荷造りを。こんな感じでグアテマラを４週間弱旅します！妊娠６カ月の私は体も重くなってきたことだし、コロコロミニスーツケースとおむつバックのみで！あとはおなかのキャプテンを無事運ぶのみ！！We will be traveling around like this for about 4 weeks in Guatemala!Since I am 5th month pregnant I will have only little suits case and diaper bag with the little one in my belly! We realized that most of stuff is Finn's! A baby takes lot of space!!

ファームでアイススケート！ Ice Skating on the farm!

先週末はファームへ久しぶりに遊びに行った。本当に暖かい冬を迎えているウィスコンシン。普通だったら雪で真白なのにね。ファームの動物が大好きなフィン。今日はほんまもんの馬にこんなに接近！ちょっと緊張！We visited the farm last weekend. We have been having such a warm winter here in Wisconsin. Usually it's all white but we have no snow! Finn is big fun of farm animals. Now he is so close to the real horsey so he is bit nervous!
クロービスも幼いころ冬はここでアイススケートを楽しんでました。ファームっていろんなことができていいなーThen we did Ice skating! Clovis used to do ice skating here when he was kid. It's so much fun on the farm!
フィンもとっても楽しんだ様子。特に、ファームにすむ３歳の女の子パマと共に！Finn enjoyed especially with Pema!!

さ、二人の小さなお手伝いさんたちは鶏の卵をとりに行きました。The two little helper went to get some eggs!

クライマーフィン　the Climber Finn!

フィンはそこらじゅうどこでも登るのが大好き。こんどはどこ登ってんの？Finn loves to climb everywhere he can thik of. Where are you now??!!

I'm in the fridge!! 冷蔵庫！年末のお掃除のときに私たちが忙しいところフィンはフィンなりに自分でなにかおもろいことを見つけてたのね！

こんなことって、、、！！ Did it really happen to us?!

昨年中古で購入したYAMAHAのベイビーグランドピアノ。ついこの間調律をお願いしました。ところが、サンタクロースのようなお顔をしたおじぃちゃんマイクこの道かれこれ50年近い調律師さんが、このピアノはなにかおかしい。YAMAHAのでこんなことはめったにないのにと、、、。説明を聞いてもとっても複雑、、、。中古を買うのってほんとリスクが大きいと実感、、、。一体修理にはいくらかかるのやら、、はたして修理可能なのであろうか、、、、。We bought a used YAMAHA baby grand piano last year. It is time to turn the piano. Mike, who just looks like Santa, from Magness Piano Servise came to our house just before Xmas. He has been doing this almost 50 years! Well now, it doesn't sound good at all. He told us that this Piano has something wrong. It is very unusual especially YAMAHA who usually does excellent job. What happened to my PIANO!!!!! It seems very complicating,,, we asked Mike for the estimation for fixing but I had no idea how much it will cost,,,, and if it's ever fixed,,,, Buying a used piano is quite risky,,,

とりあえず調律をしてもらったけど、マイク曰く、完璧にはならないと、、、。しゅん、、、、。泣）もう一度数日後調律をしに来ると言ってこの日は帰って行かれました。YAMAHAは信用ができると父がずっと言っていた。幼いころ、まっさらなYAMAHAのピアノがうちに運ばれてきたときから、私は大のYAMAHAのファン。今回買うときだってだからYAMAHAにしたのに、、、、。アメリカじゃ、違うのかな、、、。Mike did turning but he said that it can't be perfect without fixing,,,,,. Oh,,, no,,,,, I really trusted YAMAHA as my dad used to say we can trust YAMAHA. The piano my parents bought for me when I was 6 was a brand-new piano. Since then I am big fun of YAMAHA but,,,,, what can I say,,,,

その数日後、マイクから連絡があり、このピアノの製造が２００１年で、YAMAHAはすべて１０年保証をしているからもしかしたらまだ保証期間かもしれないとのことだった。うわー、こんなことまで私たちのために調べてくれたのね！！そしてマイクはYAMAHAに問い合わせてくれた。ちょっと複雑な事情ならしく、アンサーは数日かかるとのこと。Couple of days later, Mike called us and he said that he found our that the piano was made in 2001 so it might be still under warranty. Wow Mike, did you research for us?! Thank you so much! Then he said he will contact to YAMAHA. It was bit complicated so we had to wait another couple of days if we can use warranty or not.

さらに数日の今日。マイクから連絡があった。このピアノを製造していたときに、ピアノに使う木事態に悪い油が回り、それによってピアノ線を引っ掛ける釘がうまく落ち着かないということが判明し、リコールされたものの、回収敷ききれなかったピアノの一つだったとのこと。YAMAHAは修理はしないと。2 days later, Mike called us again. He explained what happened to the piano. The wood made of Piano got bad oil while they are making this piano and it was recalled but they were not able to return all the piano that had the same problem. So this piano is one of it. YAMAHA said they don't fix it...

しかし、YAMAHAはまっさらのベイビーピアノを送ってくれるとのこと！！！But they said they will send a BRAND-NEW Baby Piano to our house!!!!!

え？？え？？？え？？？いまなんていった？？！！いまだに信じられない、なんだか宝くじが当たった気分。中古で買って、１年後壊れてると判明し、そしたらまっさらなものになって帰ってくる？？！！うわ、、、YAMAHA。さすが。１１年目にしてもまっさらなものと交換してくれるの！！素敵！というか、このおじいちゃん、マイク、ほんと素敵！これを調べるために費やした時間分を払いますと言ったけど、そんなのはいいんだ、君たちにちゃんとしたピアノが来ることは私にとってもうれしいんだよだって！ほんと素敵過ぎる！！！マイク、ほんとにサンタさんｎだったのかも。What? What? What? What did you say now??!!! I can't believe!! We feel just like wining a lottery!!! We bought a used piano and one year later we were told that it has some problem then now we are getting a brand-new piano???!!!!Wow YAMAHA, I still trust you!!! It's so wonderful!! Well, Mike made it happen!!! Wow thank you so much! We offer to pay for his time for researching but he said NO. He is so happy that we will have a right piano. Wow what a guy. He must be a real SANTA!!!!

うわーーー、エコー写真ってこんなにはっきり見えるもんなん？！ちびはもう２０週目を迎えます。Wow it is so clear!!!
３D写真で初めてとってもらった。うわーーー顔までこんなにはっきり見えるの！確かにフィンの産まれたてにそっくり！でも鼻、でかーーー！この日TINTINという映画を見に行って登場するキャプテンハドックはとっても鼻がでかく、それ以来、我が家ではこのおちび、キャプテンと呼ばれています。3D photo! Wow it's a big nose!! We watch a movie 'TINTIN' after this and we call our little baby Captain since then! (Captain from Captain Haddock)
おまちかねの性別は？？？！！　私の希望通りでした！！それにしてもはっきりしてるなーーー。足と足の間にちょこんって！こりゃ間違いない！フィンの時は女の子と言われ男の子が出てきたからびっくりしたけどね！機械が古かったのか全然こんなにはっきり見えてなかったからそれも仕方ないかーーーー！！ちびはいたって順調に育っているらしく、この先グアテマラへの旅もおなかの中で楽しんでくれることでしょう！Wii-------- It was just I was hoping!!! We can clearly see the part! We were told it's a girl when Finn was in my belly but this time, it is almost 100%! Look at the part between the legs!! Everything is going well for both of us. I hope he enjoys our Guatemala trip with us in my belly!! Wish us luck!

お祝い事やイベントを欠かさない日本のばーばからはインドア滑り台をもらったフィン。寒い時期は公園に行けないけど、これで冬の間も楽しく過ごせるね！Wow!!!! A slide at my house??!! It's from Grand ma Machiko!! We can't go to a park during winter so it is perfect!!!

朝から晩まで滑ってます。だんだん滑り方も上手になってきた！Finn plays with it from morning to night! He is gtting better too!It's amazing to see how quickly he learns!

サイドには、バスケットゴールもついてるのだ！！ダンクシュート特訓中！日本のばーば、ありがとう！！On the side, there is a basketball goal. Look my dunk shot!! Thank you so much Ba~ba!!

ファームでクリスマスディナー the Xmas dinner on the farm!

今年はこのメンバーでクリスマスを。We had a wonderful Xmas with this family member in Wisconsin this year!
フィンとエラメイ。この二人が一緒にクリスマスを過ごせるのは私たちもほんとうれしい！It was so nice Finn and Ellamae had Xmas together.Finn's Japanese cousins are so far away...
スリーブラザーズとパパジョージ。フィンもボーイズたちに仲間入り！Three brothers and Papa George. Of course Finn joined the boy's photo!
おうちに入ってアパタイザーを。フィンもこの日ばかりはジュースをがぶがぶ！We had appetizer time! Well, Finn keeps drinking juice well I guess it's holiday so that's fine,,,.

エラメイ、どの曲がいいかな～？数日間一緒にいたから、ほらもうこんなに仲良し！Look at them! Only few days but they are buddies now!

ひーーまたまたプレゼント？！こりゃサンタさん大忙しやったな！Wow more gifts! Santa must have been busy!!!じゃじゃじゃーん！トラクター。いくつあっても飽きないフィン。Wow more tractor!! He never been board with tractors!!

そしてママジェーンが用意してくれたクリスマスディナー！クリスマスハムにはケッパー入りのグレービーソース。マッシュポテトにかぼちゃロースト、そして根菜サラダ。おじいちゃんは牡蠣とホタテのキャセロールを作ってきてくれました。これ、めちゃうま！Mama Jane prepared such a nice meal! Cedarose brought roots salad and Grandpa made Oyster and Scallop　casserole too! デザートには、レモンポピーシードケーキにチョコレートチーズケーキラズベリーソース。やっぱりたくさん食べすぎた！満足満足！Cedarose and Keefe shared their wedding cake (They froze it) and Jane's Chocolate cheese cake with raspberry sauce! I ate a lot. It was so good!!!

クリスマスフーズ　Xmas Meals!

やったーホワイトクリスマス！ずっと心配してた雪もまたまたちょうどよくふってくれました！Wii~~~~ We had a white Xmas! How nice!!!

おかげでベイビーたちもお庭でそりで遊ぶことができた！とっても心地よい朝！Snow came just on time and babies enjoyed sledding!!
さ、ホリデーの食事は格別！まずはキーフとシダローズがワッフルを作ってくれました！Holiday meal is always exciting! The morning, Keefe and Cedarose made waffle for us!

プレーンのものとチョコレートチップ入り。これにオーガニックバレーのバターと地元のメープルシロップをかけていただきました。最高です！Plane and chocolate chips. Of course Organic Valley butter and local maple syrup with it! It is the best waffle I ever had!
さ、クリスマス当日の朝は私達がおもてなしします。お友達のジュリアが持ってきてくれたオレンジジュースとシャンペーンカクテルとともに、クロービスが作ったブルーベリーとクリームを乗せたクレープ、フルーツ、例のミニピロシキ、One the Xmas morning, Clovis and I hosted for the breakfast. Our friend Julia brought Orange champagne for us! Clovis's crape with blue berry, fruits
これはクロービス力作のクリスマスハムエッグ。アスパラガスと赤パプリカは前日に炭火でグリルしてます。クリスマスカラーにこだわりました！！This is awesome Xmas decoration ham and egg! He grilled asparagus and red pepper the night before for extra taste! He really wanted to have Xmas color.
真ん中を割ると、鮮やかな黄色。作り方はいたってシンプルだけど、かなりいけています。マフィンの型にハムをしいて、卵を割りいれ、その上にチーズ、パプリカ、アスパラガス（好きなお野菜やマッシュルーム何でも）をのせて、１７０度ぐらいのオーブンで２０分から３０分焼くだけ！クロービス、よくできましたーーー！Cut into a half and look! He is so artistic! Recipe is so simple. put a slice of ham in a muffin baker and crack an egg, put some cheese and vegetable then put in an oven for 20-30min at 350F! Clovis, well done!!
みんなで食べるともっとおいしいね！It's so nice to have everyone at our house!
エラメイちゃんもご機嫌！Ellamae looks so happy!!
ダディーたちはそろってオムツ交換。二人ともいいぱぱっぷりです！the Siemon Daddy diapers! They are both awesome daddies!
さあ、いよいよたっくさーんのプレゼントをあけます！It's time to open the gifts!!

フィン、パラダイス。次はディナーへ！！うちはもうおもちゃの城状態！He is in a paradise! Our house became a castle of toys! Next is Xmas dinner on the farm!

ザ　クリスマスホリデー　 The Xmas Holiday!

いよいよクリスマスホリデー。今年はウィスコンシンでファミリーと過ごします。コロラドに住んでいるお兄さん一家もそろってとっても楽しみ！従妹のエラメイちゃんと久しぶりの再会！It's Holiday time!!! Clovis's brother Hawkins' family came back from Colorado so we had Xmas holiday with all the Wisconsin family! Finn and Ellamae are still figuring out each other!
地元の高校生たちがサーカスのショーをやっていたのでみんなで見に行った。We went to YIHC to see their circus!
なんと、ディレクターをしている先生の息子さん生後３カ月で初出演！ライトを浴びながら泣きもせず、堂々としているところはさすが！Even the little 3 months old boy was in the show!!! He was awesome!!
さて、２３日はお友達とのパーティーをうちで。卓球台もセットして、準備はばっちり！Now we are ready for the party with our friends at our house! George brought a ping pong table from the farm and we set up in our basement!

意外にも子供たちも１０数名来て、ロッククライミングはやはり大人気！Lots of kids came too! The rock climbing was of course popular! ウィスコンシンに戻ってきているお友達にも会えてよかったねー It was so nice to see all of you. Some of them live out of Wisconsin but came back for the holiday!

フィンも遅くまで起きて、パーティーに参加。お子ちゃまたちがみんな帰った後は一人舞台。勢い止まらず大人の注目を浴びるフィン。誰の子じゃーーーーーー！！最後は朝の４時解散だったらしい。結局３０人を超えるにぎやかなパーティーになりました！！この先まだまだクリスマスは続くよーーー！！Finn also stay up late. After all the kids left, he was a star. Showing off what he can do and getting everybody's attention! Who's kid??!!The party was continued until 4 AM!!! Xmas holiday to be continued!

レンティル豆とハーブ！The lentil beans with herb

冬になると旬のお野菜がグーンと減ってくるけど、パセリやコリアンダーのようなビニール栽培で育てられるものはありがたい！Herbs like Parsley and cilantro are awesome especially winter time!
今日はレンティル豆を使ってお野菜たっぷり入れちゃおう！Cook with lentil beans!
おやさいディッシュだけど、これを使うとちょっとコクが出る。固形のブイヨンとか出汁のもととかは何がはいってるかわからないから普段あんまり使わないけど、これならオーガニックチキンのお肉から作られているので安心。I don't want to use Bouillon that has something I don't know but this is very good stuff!
そして、クリスマスシーズン限定のサラミ！中にはドライ無花果とココアが入っている。コープさんで試食やってたからついつい買っちゃった！激うまです。イタリアンサラ～ミ好みの方は絶対気に入ります！Wow Salami!! It's from Wisconsin and only during holiday season. I loved it! I wish I could have red wine with it!
さ、今日ももりもり食べるぞー！Let's eat!
遊んでるように見えるけど、この後全部食べてくれました！さすが豆好き。最近食べてくれるメニューが増えてきてうれしいわー。He looks playing with the food but he ate it all!!! He loves beans!! Good boy!

ミニピロシキ　Mini Piroshki

クリスマスのパーティー料理に向けて試作中。今回はミニピロシキ。こういうフィンガースナックって好きだなー。I have been thinking about party menu for Xmas! I love finger snacky! 小さいから包むのがちょっと大変だけど、意外と簡単！このピロシキは揚げではなく焼き。１歳半の息子もパクパク食べてくれました！I made Mini Piroshki. It's easy and delicious! This time I baked instead of frying. My 18 month son also loved it!
お勧めだったのでレシピを Recipe mini 20 piroshki
ミニピロシキ２０個分
生地
中力粉か強力粉　１８０ｇ flour
牛乳　５０ｍｌ Milk
バター１０ｇ Butter
砂糖２５ｇ Sugar
塩小さじ1/2 Salt t 1/2
とき卵 1 egg

☆ドライイースト 2g Dry yeast
☆お湯大匙１Warm water T1
☆砂糖一つまみ pinch of sugar

①☆の材料を合わせて１０分置いておく Mix the ☆ingredients together and sit aside for 10min.
②牛乳を沸騰直前まで温めてバター、砂糖、塩をいれ、とき卵を入れる。Heat up milk until just before it boils and put butter, sugar, salt and an egg.
③☆と②を混ぜそれを中力粉に入れて１０分混ぜてこね、２倍になるぐらいまで発酵。（約１時間）
Mixi ☆ and ② together and put in the flour. knead for 10 min and let it rise until double (about one hour)
④その間に中身を作る。Make the filling.
豚肉 about 1/4 lb、マッシュルーム、セロリ、人参、玉ねぎなどなどお好きなお野菜を一緒にいため、塩コショウ、白ワイン、少々のトマトソースにて味付け。stare fry pork mince, mushroom and your favorite veges such as celery, carrot, onion etc. Put little bit of white wine, salt, pepper and some tomato sauce (not too much).
⑤オーブンを２００度に温めはじめ、発酵した生地を２０等分にして１０分置く（濡れふきんをかぶせておく）
Preheat the oven at 400F or 200 C and cut the dough into 20 piece and rest for 10min.
⑥麺棒で平らに延ばして中身を詰めて口を閉じる。Roll the pieces into disks and put the filling and fold in half moon shape and seal the edge using fork .
⑦オーブンで焼く１３分焼いて出来上がり！Put them in the oven for 13 min!
いっぱい作ったら冷凍もできるのでかなりお勧め！If you have too many, you can just freeze them!

馬ソリ！Horse Sleigh rides!

今朝、外を見たら雪！１２月になっても全然雪が降らなかったから駄目かなーって思ってたけど、今日はこの馬ソリを体験できる日でもあった！ラッキー！Finally we had snow!!! It has been warm winter here in Wisconsin but today is the day we needed snow! Let's go for sleigh rides !!
うわーサンタさんみたいにそりにのるぞーーー！Let's ride like a Santa!!

キッズクリスマスクラフト　Kid's Xmas crafts!

幼児教室に９月から週１回通い、いまだに他のお友達の前ではシャイなフィン。毎回先生が用意してくださる工作アクティビティーは、ちょっとずつ自分でできるようになってきました！Finn and I goes a toddler class one a week since September. He is still shy in the class unlike at home. Every week the teacher prepare fun art activities and he is getting better and better!
何かに夢中になる時はほんと真剣な顔をして集中します。素敵なクリスマスオーナメントができました！He is very serious when he does something he is interested. He made a beautiful Xmas ornament!
続いてクリスマスツリーを作っています。アイスクリームのコーンに緑のフロスティングを使って、この後はキャンディースティックの飾りも付けました！And he is decorating a Xmas tree! An Ice cream corn and green frosting then we sprinkled little cane candies! Well done!!
さ、工作が終わったらいよいよスナックタイム！Now it's snacky time!!

ベーキングデー　the Baking day!

寒くなるとますますベーキングって楽しくなる。今日はジェーンにベビーシッターをお願いして明日のフィンの幼児クラスのスナックの準備。週に１階のお教室はママたちが順番にスナックを準備します。クリスマスっぽくやっぱりジンジャークッキー。シナモン、クローブ、ジンジャーと、スパイスが効いているのでこれはママさん達用。ピーナッツバタークッキーにチェリージャムを挟んだものとプレーンのもの。It's baking season! I love baking especially in Winter time! Many people started baking for holiday. Today I baked for Finn's class. Every week someone's mom prepare for the kid's snack so tomorrow is my turn!Peanuts butter cookies with cherry jam, Ginger cookies are for moms as it is bit spicy but I love spicy cookies!
それから最近フィンのお気に入りのケーキ。ココア、オールスパイス、バナナ、ブラックベリーのケーキです。This is probably Finn's favorite cake. Coco, all spice, banana, black berry in it!
そして、イチゴとバナナのサンタさん、目と口は黒ゴマで！みんな喜んでくれるといいなー！And strawberry and banana Santa! The eyes and mouth are sesame seeds! I hope kids like them!

クッキーウォーク the Cookie walk

先日クッキーウォークというイベントが近くの教会であるというのでおじいちゃんを誘って行きました！クリスマスらしいクッキーがたっくさん！Last weekend, the good Shepard Lutheran church had Cookie walk event! Wow looks great! Lots of yummy foods around Xmas!! We love it!
どれがいいかなー！！こうしてたくさんの種類のクッキーから、食べたいクッキーを食べたいだけ選び放題
Which one Finn??!! This one or that one??!! We can choose from many different kind of cookies! I see it's cookie walk!!

冬に食べたいクリームシチュー

私のガーデンの最後の収穫物はブルッセルスプラウト！芽キャベツ。玉ねぎやらかぶの葉っぱやらセロリや人参お野菜たっぷりとサンクスギビングの残りの七面鳥でとった出汁とお肉でクリームシチュー。冬ってかんじーーー！！Brussels sprouts were the last vegetable from my garden. Cooked with Onion, turnip leaves, celery, and carrot and turkey broth that was from the thanks given!
下ごしらえしたら後は薪ストーブの上にのせておけば勝手にお料理してくれる！It's cream stew!! I love to have this dish in Winter especially cold night!! Once it's prepared, I just put on our wood stove for a while and it's done!!
フィンにはオートミールと混ぜてフォークで食べやすいように。あんまり食べてくれないフィンもこの日はほぼ完食！やったーーー！I mixed with oat meal for Finn so that he can stab with fork easily. And tara~~~~~~~~~~ he ate it all!!! He is very picky for food I am so glad to see it!Wii~~~~~~

１２月に入っていよいよ冬の寒さが増してきました！外はマイナスになる事が多くなり、こんな日々、ずっとたべたーーいと思っていたのが、豚まん！豚まんって買うもんやと思っていたけど、もちろんビロクアには売っているところはなし。よーし、作ってみるか！Cold weather makes me feel want to eat BUTAMAN(Pork Bun) It is very popular food in Japan especially winter time. We can get even from convenience store! But of course nobody sales in Viroqua so I decided to make it my own!!
フィンにも食べてもらえるようにエルモを敷いて。My son Finn loves Elmo!
我ながら上出来！もっちりの皮なんともいえませーーーん！またつくろーっと！Wow it was even better that I expected!
ちなみ皮のレシピお勧めなので載せてみます。
豚まん８個分
中力粉　200ｇ
ドライイースト小さじ１
砂糖大さじ１
塩一つまみ
ぬるま湯110ｃｃ
ごま油またはサラダ油大さじ１

For 8buns
All purpose flower 200g
Dry yeast 1t
Sugar 1T
Pinch of salt
Warm water 110cc
Sesame oil or vegetable oil 1T
パンを作るようにこねこねして一次発酵が終わったら３０センチぐらいの棒状に伸ばして８等分に切る。
麺棒で手のひらよりちょっと大きいぐらいに伸ばして中身を入れて包む。
蒸し器で約１５分で出来上がり！
中身は適当に味付けするので、、、、。
今回はシイタケ、タケノコ、春雨、豚のひき肉、きくらげ、かぶの葉っぱと適当にある材料を入れてみました。私は八角を入れるのが好きです。

お友達のバースデーディナー　Logan's birthday dinner!

今日はお友達のバースデーパーティー。巻きずしを作って行きました！ベジタリアン用に中身はキュウリ、人参、卵焼き、チーズ、タケノコ、アボカドなど。Logan's birthday dinner party! We often eat sushi for a special occasion so I made some Sushi roll. Since they are vegetarian, I put cucumber, carrot, egg, cheese, bamboo shoot and avocado.

わーい！バースデーディナーは、お野菜のラザーニャ、地元のホウレンソウのサラダ。これにはザクロ、ウォールナッツ、ゴートチーズが入ってドレッシングはバルサミコ酢ベースにとってもおいしいお味！そしてガーリックがきいたガーリックブレッド！ベジタリアンの人たちってお野菜の使い方がとっても上手！本当においしかったーーーー。そしてケーキはアイスクリームケーキ！もうおなかいっぱいいっぱいまで食べちゃいました！Katie made special dinner! Vegetable lasagna, spinach salad which has goat cheese, pomegranate and walnuts in it! The spinach is local too! And garlic toast! Everything was so delicious! I think Vegetarian people know how to cook vegetable so well! The cake was Ice cream cake! I was so full but I ate until my limit!!

クリスマスキャロル　Xmas Carol

先日、近くの教会でクリスマスキャロルのコーラスを聴きに行きました。We went for mini Xmas concert at the church.
いっちょまえにフィンもプログラムをチェック！Finn was checking the program?!
フィンは初めの５分ぐらいは興味津津であとは教会じゅうを歩き回り、楽しんだ様子。クリスマスの雰囲気でいっぱいです。Finn enjoyed both the songs and walking around the church!! It was great!

１２月とえいばクリスマスーーー！そろそろうちも飾り付けを始めなきゃ！そこで今日はクリスマスツリーファームにやってきました！たくさんあってどの木にしようかまよっちゃうーーー！December, it's Xmas season!! We went to a Xmas tree farm last weekend! There are so many choices so we took loooooong time to pick up our tree.
みてみて！鳥の巣が！Look! It's a bird's nest!

このファームには子供たちが遊べるこんなツリーフォートがあったり、キャビンの中では温かいココアが用意されていたり。We enjoyed hot coco and kids were having great fun!
誰より楽しそうだったクロービス！Clovis had fun too!
２ｍぐらいある木にさっそく飾り付け！もみの木のにおいが家じゅうにぷわーーーんと。やっぱり本物の木はいいなーーー！お昼寝から起きたらこんなツリーがおうちの中に！フィンはもう興奮状態！！

Pleasant Ridge School Holiday fair

マミー、レッツゴー！毎年１２月に行われるビロクア町のシュタイナー学校Pleasant Ridge Schoolのホリデーフェア。町のみんなが楽しみにしているイベントの一つです。いろんな州からこの学校に通うために移動してくる人々もたくさんいるという評判の学校。金曜日の晩には地元バンドがスポンサーするダンスナイトも地元のバーで行われます。私たちは２日目のキッズアクティビティーいっぱいの日に参加。１２月というのに、まだ雪ではなく雨！今年はあったかいなー。Mummy! おなかがすいてきたからランチをいただくかーーー！地元の人たちのカントリーミュージックの演奏やダンスで雰囲気も盛り上がってます！I am getting hungry! Let's have some lunch!! It is so nice to see people enjoying!!
すべて手作りのこのランチ！ビーフシチューと玄米、レンティル豆とケールの煮込み、ベークドヤムポテト。
どれも本当においしーーー！Wow we are so lucky to have such a wonderful meal! Everything was made by local people! Beef stew , brown rice, lentil beans and kale and baked yams! Everything was delicious!!

そして手作りデザートもいっぱい種類があって選ぶのにたーーいへん！全部たべたーーい！！このランチ。デザートもついて＄７！これは学校の運営資金となります！たくさんの人を今年も楽しませてくれてありがとう！Lock at the desert!! So many kinds of them and they are all home made too! We get this lunch only $7! It's school fund-rising. Thank you so much for this awesome event!

サンクスギビングディナー　Thanksgiving Dinner 2011

１１月第４木曜日はサンクスギビングデー。収穫の恵みに感謝する日です。アメリカではクリスマスに次ぐ一大イベント！今年ももうこの季節がやってきたのかーーー！早いなー。さて、我が家のメインのディナーは今年は翌日の金曜日にディナーになりました。This year we had the Thanksgiving day dinner on Friday instead.
シダローズとキーフはウィスコンシン州都のマディソンからのファンシーなチーズと、自家製クラッカーのお店からスウィートポテトとオニオンが入ったクラッカー、そしてウィスコンシン産で素敵なアパタイザープレイトを作ってくれました！Cedarose and Keefe brought fancy cheese,Sweet potato and Onion cracker from cracker shop and Wisconsin Pear! Cedarose made a beautiful cheese platter!
１１月も下旬というのに、今年はとっても暖かい。雪が降ってもおかしくないぐらいの時期だけど日中は９度ぐらいになっていた。ジェーンとジョージは外で火を焚いてマグロ、レッドペッパー、オニオンの串焼きを作ってくれました。Late November, usually we have a cold weather but this year it's so warm! It was around 48F!! So George built a fire and Jane cooked Tuna, red pepper, mini onion on skewers as an appetizer!
あたたかいことだしちょっと外の空気を！We enjoyed the appetizer and now we are going for hiking on the farm!
さ、アパタイザーをいただいたらファームをお散歩！？？なんでオレンジを着ている人が多いの？１１月はシカのハンティング。この時期外に出ると’ポーーーン　ポーーーン’と鉄砲の音が響き渡っています。森の中を散歩中打たれては大変。シカハンティングする人たちはみんなこの派手なオレンジ色の服を着て身を守ります。それじゃあ、シカに近くにいることがわかっちゃうって？シカはカラーブラインドなんだってー。納得ーーー！Why some of us were waring bright jacket? Even Finn is waring an Orange hat??!! Well it's Deer hunting season!! We don't want to get shot!!

ファームには面白いものがたくさんあるね！So much fun stuff on the farm!
まだまだごちそうは続きます。焼き立てヨーグルトパン。フィン。もうちょっとまってねー。Now ware back inside and continue cooking! Wow Yogurt bans smells so good!! Finn, few more minutes to wait!

メインは何と言っても七面鳥のロースト！７キロもあるオーガニック七面鳥はオーブンの中で４時間半じっくりローストされました。うわーーーちなみにフィンの体重は９キロぐらい。Tara~~~~~~ '15 lb Organic Turkey roast'! It was in a oven around 4.5 hours!! By the way Finn is about 20lb!
僕はもう準備満タン！早くみんな席についてーーーーー！I can't wait any more!! Come on everyone!! Please be seated!!
クランベリーソース、グレービーソース、どちらも楽しみたい七面鳥ロースト！そして七面鳥の中に詰めたスタッフィンはみんなの大好物！マッシュポテトにグリーンピース、ブルッセルスプラウトの炒めものとお散歩の途中にとってきたウォータークレソン！おなかいーーーっぱい食べました！そして、この後デザートにグランパが作ってくれたパンプキンパイにシダローズが作ってくれたピカーンパイ！思わず写真も忘れちゃった。こんな素敵な食べ物が食べられる私たちのこの生活にほんと感謝感謝。Turkey with cranberry sauce and gravy, Stuffing, mush potato. green peas, Brussels sprout and Cedarose grabbed some water cress while we are walking! Everything was so delicious!! And I even forgot to take a photo of great pies. Grandpa Bob made pumpkin pie and Cedarose made pecan Pie. Oh we are so spoiled!!

そのあとはカードゲームにフィンも参加？！今年も素敵なサンクスギビングディナー、ありがとう！

ついに、我が家のロッククライミングジムを試す日が来た！お友達のローガンが先日に引き続き遊びに来てくれました！ローガンの慎重派１９０センチ近くだから壁が小さく見えるなー。Finally we got to try our new indoor rock climbing. Thanks for coming Logan !

意外に高度なクライミングコースが出来上がっていたようだ！It was harder climbing than Clovis thought! Good job Logan!

ケイティーとローガン　Katie and Logan

先日お友達のローガンとケイティーが遊びに来てくれました！二人はベジタリアンなのでメキシカン風ベジタリアンラザーニャを作りました！パスタの代わりにコーントルティーヤを使って、玉ねぎ、人参、セロリ、そしてブラックビーンズとトマトとローストペッパー入りのソースで煮込んだものと、リコッタチーズを交互に重ねてモッツァレラチーズをかけパン粉を散らしてオーブンに２０分ほど入れたら出来上がり！ウィスコンシンってチーズがいっぱーいでうれし～～～～Katie and Logan visited us! We had Mexican Lasagna which I use corn tortillas instead of pasta. layers of vegetable and beans with tomato sauce and ricotta cheese. Put lots of mozzarella cheese on the top and little bit of Panko. Then put in an oven for 20 min!! We are so lucky to have such a great cheese here in Wisconsin!!

フィンもいっぱい遊んでもらって楽しそう！ケイティーのリクエストにお答えしてフィンは今日もバットマン。Katie requested Batman so Finn is a batman again!! We had a great fun!!

ハーフ＆ハーフ　Half & Half

クロービスの昔からのお友達タナーと奥さんのワットと息子君のイースタンがアラスカからウィスコンシンへ引っ越してきた！アラスカに比べるとウィスコンシンはあたたか～い。らしい。イースタンはタイとアメリカ人とのハーフ。フィンと並んでハーフ＆ハーフ！ビロクアではとっても珍しいコンビ！
Clovis's old friend Tanner, his wife Wat and their cute baby Eastern moved back to Viroqua!! Wat is from Thailand so they are Half and Half !! It is unusual in Viroqua! I hope they will be a good friend for long time like their daddies!

お寿司教室　Sushi class at YIHC

今日は地元のハイスクールにて寿司クラスのゲストティーチャー行ってきました！高校生のころのお寿司屋さんの３年間のバイトが役に立つ時が来た！ちょっとルンルン！大学生になって一人暮らしするようになっても作れるように、ご飯もお鍋で炊きました！そういえば日本を離れてからご飯はずっとお鍋で焚いてるから炊飯器なしの生活が当たり前になってしまったなーーー。お寿司は海外でもとっても人気の食べ物。生魚は食べる習慣があまりなく、苦手な人が多いので今回はなしで。I was invited to teach how to make Nori roll at YIHC. I am glad that I worked at Sushi shop for 3 years when I was high school I never imagine teaching like this at that time! Not so many people have a rice cooker at home so we cooked rice with a pan so that they can make sushi at home or when they live away from parents. I don't remember when I used rice cooker last time. Since I left home in 2005 I cook rice with my pan. (Almost everybody has a rice cooker at home in Japan) Sushi is very popular dish in abroad but they don't get used to eat raw fish so this time we did with out it.
いよいよみんなが楽しみにしていた巻きに入ります！Students were so excited for this part! Let's roll!!
巻いていくうちにコツがつかめたようでとっても上手に巻けました！Wow it looks great! As they roll more they get better!
中身はシーチキン、アボカド、卵、赤いのはローストレッドペッパー,照り焼き豆腐、そして、ニシンの酢漬け。みんな上出来上出来！簀巻きやしゃもじ、寿司桶を貸してくださったブレンダさん、ありがとう！そして何せ田舎で寿司の材料をそろえようと思うと一苦労。そんな材料をそろえてくれたジェーン（メインティーチャー）、おうちでよい子にしててくれたフィン、ありがとう！！We used Tuna from can, Avocado, egg, Roast red pepper Teriyaki Tofu and pickled herring! Well done everyone!! And thanks Brenda to loan us your Japanese cooking tools we couldn't do without them and thanks Jane to get all the ingredients! And thanks Finn I heard that you were super good boy while I was away!!

産まれた！A little boy was born!!

産まれたーーー！元気な男の子。兄夫婦の２番目の子が無事誕生との連絡が入り私たちも大喜び！数日前に予定日近いけど、満月の３日後には世界中の出生率が１０％あがるらしいよーっていう話ししてたらほんとに満月の３日後に産まれてきたって！満月すごーーーーっ！おめでとーーーー！
A baby boy was born!! He is my new nephew just born yesterday! We were just talking about the full moon power a couple of days ago. 1 day before the full moon or 3 days after the full moon, 10% of the rate of birth increase and here he is!! He was born 3 days after the full moon!! I am so glad that both Mom and the baby are nice and healthy!! Congratulations!!

インドアロッククライミング　Our indoor rock climbing

寒い時期にもロッククライミングできるようにとリフォーム中の地下にこんなものを作っちゃいました！
I did it, I finished my indoor rock climbing wall just in time for the first snow fall. check it all out in the photos! it's a little more then plywood and t-bolts in a garage.
高さ５メートルほどあるこのロッククライミングウォールは新しく作ったクロービスのオフィスから１階に上がってくる階段の壁にお友達の大工さんベンとクロービスで作ってやっと完成！雪のシーズンに間に合ったね！
it's 16 feet high and is comfortably located in my new office (hard days at work lie ahead). plus it's real luxury is we (Ben Rondeau and I) built a set of 8+ foot parallel cracks with an adjustable island between.
オフィスからはこんな感じ。左のドアはミュージックのレコーディング部屋。クロービス、仕事に集中できるんかーーーー！！！楽しみがあると一段と仕事にも念が入りまっすってことで！いいオフィスができてよかったねーーーー！！
I just finished it tonight so I haven't really got a chance to break it in, But I'm planning on using a "soloist", cause a fall to a set of steps is not on my agenda. WILL PROVIDE CLIMBING GYM FOR BEER! Clovis

昨日から雪が本格的に降り出し、今日も引き続き雪景色。さあ、今年もまきストーブの活躍です！Well it seems like winter time! Viroqua is covered by white snow!! It's time for wood stove!!
楽しみの一つはお料理。煮込み料理はストーブが勝手にお料理してくれるので楽ちんだし、ええぐわいに煮込んでくれるのでおいし～～今日のランチはミネストローネ！フィンが食べてくれるといいけど、、、。お野菜食べてーーーー！I love cooking on the stove!Minestrone for lunch! I hope Finn eats some too.
息子はひたすらトラクターで遊ぶ毎日です。お外に出たいね、、、、。本日幼児教室お休みしました。残念、、、。Finn has been playing with his tractors I hope we can play outside little bit more!

ハロウィーン　イン　ジャパン　Halloween in Japan

妹から素敵な写真が届きましたーーーー！ハロウィーンって日本じゃいろんなお菓子会社がハロウィーン風にパッケージを作って売りだしてるか、デコレーションはしたとしてもTrick or Treatingはしたことがなかったと思ったけど、最近はインターナショナルな文化も広がってきてるねんなーーー！ジャックオーランタンも作らせてもらったんだって！My sister sent some awesome photo! They did Halloween??!! I don't remember if I ever join Trick or Treating in Japan. Usually shopping center decorate for Halloween or sweets companies have special package for Halloween but residents don't do anything. But it seems like changing little bit! Even they made Jack O Lantern! Well done!

私が日本を出た２００５年に生まれたユナはもう小学校１年生。やっぱりプリンセスになったかーー！Yuna was born in 2005 when I was just about moving to Australia. Wow she is already 1st grade!! I knew she was going to be a princess!!
うわーーー他の子たちも可愛いねーーー！地震で日本行きをキャンセルしたからしばらく会ってない姪っ子甥っ子。赤ちゃんの時にしか会ったことのないセナは忍者ーーーーーー！こんな素敵な機会を作ってくれたご近所さんに感謝感謝やねーーー！早く日本に行きたいなーーーー。Wow others are cute too! Since we canceled our trip to Japan because of the Earth quake, I haven't seen my nieces and nephew,,, I only saw my nephew Sena when he was a baby. Wow he is big ninja!!!! I can't believe how fast they are growing!!!! I hope we can go to Japan soon,,,,. They are so lucky to have such a great neighbors!

今週末はちょっとあったかくなるから溶けるだろうけど

Snow snow snow!! We know it was coming soon! This weekend will be bit warmer so it will melt but soon we will have this white white white world everyday here in Wisconsin! Our living room is so bright now!

息子は誰かの風邪がうつってすごい変な咳、、、。
食べ物たべてくれへんし、、、、。
食べるふりはしたりするねんけどねーーーー困ったさん。
早く治ってくれーーーー
何しろ百日咳が流行してるらしい、、、。フィンは検査結果まち。ドクターはたぶん百日咳ではないだろうとのことだったけど、とりあえず今週は幼児クラスお休みさせないと、、、。

日本語教師養成４２０時間講座修了！！ I am a certified Japanese Teacher!

これまたほんとそれ以上のことを学ぶことができました。私が受講したのはオーストラリアのシドニーにあるThe World Japanese Language Centre。ウィスコンシンではさすがにこう言った講座は受けられるところが見当たらなく、以前住んでいたオーストラリアで気になっていた通信でも受けられるこの学校を選びました。http://www.wjlc.net/wjlc/index.htm
本当は１年ぐらいで終了するペースで進めていくのですが、私の場合ウィスコンシンでザリトルカントリースクールの立ち上げや妊娠、出産などの事情を先生に相談したら、時間をかけて確実に身についてほしいということで何と４年もかかったけど、最後まで見守ってくださいました！感謝感謝です。気になる授業内容ですが、DVDで本当の授業に参加しているような感じの前半部分とアサインメント提出で日本の文化、歴史なども含んだ詳細を学びマスターコースを通して、思っていた以上の事を学ぶことができたと思います。毎回の丁寧な添削、解説、は素晴らしいものでした。また、特に英語圏での指導を目指している方にはお勧めです。受講し始めてすぐにでも授業をこうやって組立てようという案が
浮かんでくるようになるのはとても楽しかったなー卒業しても日本語を教えるに関して困った時があれば先生にすぐメールで相談ができるところもとっても心強い。日本語の奥は深い！そして日本語が話せるからと言って教えられるのかと言えばそうではないことを痛感しました！
I've done it!!! Finally I finished a Teaching Japanese course! I started in 2007 since I started the little country school and having a baby I couldn't do as fast as I was hoping. It took me 4 years to finish! I learned so many things that I didn't know about my language, history and culture. How to teach Japanese as a second language, it is completely different from just being able to speak Japanese. I enjoyed the course a lot!

グランパはトラクターに乗せてくれるから大好き！I love my Grandpa because he give me a tractor ride! By Finn.
グランパジョージが西海岸へ出張に行ってきたお土産。オイスターーーーー！！ウィスコンシンじゃ、こんな牡蠣はなかなか手に入らないなーーーー。とれたてほやほやを買ってきてくれました。Grandpa George went to west coast on his business trip and he brought us a lot of Oyster!!!!! We can't get like this fresh Oyster in Wisconsin!!! We are so far away from ocean!!
殻付きは殻をとるのが一苦労。でもおいしいものを味わうには手間暇かかるのだーーーーー。ようやく全部むけた！！おとなしくしてくれてたフィン、、、ありがとね、、、。The hardest part is getting inside unless you BBQ them. But I done it!! Thank you my son being so patient...
生もいいけど、やっぱり牡蠣ふりゃーが一番好きだなーーーー。そういえば昔名古屋に住んでいたおばあちゃんがエビふりゃーとか牡蠣ふりゃーとか言っておもろいなーってずっと思ってたなー。ついついまだ話がわからないフィンに牡蠣ふりゃーって何回も言っちゃった！牡蠣フライなんて、、、何年ぶり？！何せ牡蠣なんてその辺で売ってへんからなーーーーMy favorite is frying with breadcrumb! I don't remember when I eat this dish last time. It was very special dinner for me!! Thanks George!!

母乳をやめてから牛乳をがばがばと飲むフィン。肝心の食の方はその日の気分で食べたり食べなかったり。甘いものはあまりあたえないように、、、とはいえ何故か甘いものは見ただけでわかってしまうので最近はデザートは何かお野菜を使って作る。かぼちゃのプリンは大好評でした！フォークやスプーンを持ちたがるけど口に入る可能性はう、、、、３０％ぐらいかな、、、、。After I quit nursing, Finn drinks a lot of cow's milk but eating food is not his favorite,,,,so fat,,,,. I don't give him so much sweets but somehow he knows which food is sweet even if it is a new food for him. I try to make sweets with vegetable. This is squash custard. He liked it! He also wants to use fork or spoon. Mostly playing with food and he put actual food in his moth just about 30% ...
学生時代のお友達が同じぐらいの年の息子君がいるんだけど、息子君のご飯、栄養価満点でいろんな種類を作ってる。見習わねば！そこで、鉄分が不足しているフィンに野草のスイバSorrel を使った栄養満点スープ。とりベースのスープにジャガイモ、玉ねぎ、そしてスイバを２０分以上焚いてミキサーにかけて少々牛乳とクリームを混ぜて塩コショウで味を調節したら出来上がり。スープは飲んでくれるのでいつもお野菜をたっぷり入れて作ります。A friend of mine from collage, her son is only 2 month apart from Finn. She makes such a great food for her son. I was motivated by her. I made Sorrel soup that has a lot of Iron.Put potate and Onion into Chicken base broth and cook more than 20 min then blend it and put some milk and cream. Salt and pepper if you like!

これでこのハロウィーン衣装を着るのも最後かなー。グランパ、グランマ、ハロウィーンの時見られなかったから着せてみた。そういえばブログ更新してなかったからこのところのブログのフィンの服装はずっと同じみたい、、、洗濯してます。ファームに生まれたての子猫がやってきた。最近動物をみるとじっと観察するフィン。触ったりするのは怖いくせにじ～～～っと見る。Halloween costume again?! Well Grandpa and Grandma hadn't have seen it. I didn't up dated blog so often you might think he wares batman costume everyday... 　 Grandma brought two kittens! They are so cute!!! Finn is very curious. He likes to observe very seriously!

最近はめっきり好きなものや嫌いなもの、ほしいものを伝えるのがうまくなったもんだ、、、。He is a good communicator,,,, especially when he demands something!!

バットマーン！先日の幼児クラスでのハロウィーンパーティーに引き続き今日は本番！ビロクアの町ではダウンタウンでお店の人たちがキャンディーを配ってくれているのでさっそくバットマンフィンはジャックオーランタンを持って出動！Mr, Batman!! Today is the Halloween!! We went to Down town Viroqua for trick or treating. Go Finn Go!!
今度は冬支度の薪割りから帰ってきたスケルトンダディーとAfter we came back from Down town, Skeleton Daddy, who had been cutting wood for our winter, and
悪魔に変身したマミーと一緒に町の人たちのお家にTrick or Treating!! Devil mommy took the little bat man for Trick or Treating around residence.
ハロウィーンの１カ月ぐらい前からみんないろいろな飾り付けをするのでお散歩も楽しみ。About a month before the Halloween, people start to decorate! It is fun to walk around!!
こうして家の外の明かりがついているとお菓子を準備して待っててくれるサイン。The front door light is the sign that people are ready for trick or treating!
いっぱいお菓子貰ったね！来年は食べられるかなーーーーFinn got a lot of candies!!

Skeleton Clovis and Zombie Adam went for the Halloween party at Viking Inn in Viroqua. I was little sick so I decided to stay at home with Finn. Boys, scare people!!!スケルトンクロービスとゾンビアダムは町のバーで行われたハロウィーンパーティーへ。私は風邪気味だったのでフィンとお留守番、、、。ボーイズ、みんなを怖がらせてきてね！！
There were lots of people in costume and Clovis said that sometimes he didn't recognized who they are with their amazing make up and costume!! たくさんの人たちがそれぞれ仮装をして参加。巧みな仮装で言われるまで全く誰だかわからないぐらいの人もいたという。

今年もハロウィーンが近付いてきました！Wow soon it is Halloween!!
フィンはかぼちゃのお化けランタン作りの手伝うふり。Is he helping?! Well he is just pretending.
この日は週１回言っている幼児お教室で、ハロウィーンコスチュームがありました！フィンはバットマン！このくらいの年齢は何と言っても着てても違和感のないものでないと嫌がってすぐ脱いじゃうからね、、、。マスクをかぶせようかとも思いつつ、いやいや絶対つけてはくれないはずと思い、今回は帽子でバットマンの耳をイメージ。帽子もすぐとりたがるんだなこれが、、、。Today kids are going to ware their Halloween costume at school! The outfit has to be comfortable otherwise he takes off right away so I found the Batman's out fit that is almost like P.J and I sewed the cape on it! I am sure he will hate to ware a mask so we used a hat for the ears instead.

どうにかおさまった、、、かな、、、。Kids,,,, look at the camera!!!!! Well this is as good as I could get.
その後はいつものようにスナックタイム！今回は先生がとっても素敵なおやつを用意してくれました！アイスクリーム？？！！Snacky time!! Today our teacher prepared a special snack! It looks like ice cream on a corn??!!
実はこれ、アイスクリームのコーンの中にブラウニーを入れて焼き、フロスティングとトッピングを乗せたもの。なかなかアイディアですね～～～！フィン、初めて食べるブラウニー！来週の月曜日はいよいよ本番ハロウィーン！This is actually brownie in an Ice cream corn. Wow it is very creative!! Thank you so much!!! This is Finn's first brownie!!

アップルパイ！the Apple pie!

う～～～～焼けたてのアップルパイ！先日クロービスがご近所さんのお庭の枯れ葉処理を手伝ったお礼に焼いてきてくれました！Wow it is still warm!! It's an apple pie!! Clovis helped our neighbor's yard work and she baked a whole apple pie for us!!
フィンもパクパク。地元のリンゴで作ってくれたパイ。とってもおいしかったなー。アメリカではパイを食べるときはアイスクリームがつきもの。おっと、、、、予想外だったから用意がないよ、、、。仕方ないフレンチバニラ味のストーニーフィールドのヨーグルトを代用するか！なかなかこれもいけてました！ご近所さんみんなとってもいい人でよかったーーー。Of course Finn loved it too! Oh,,, we didn't have any ice cream to go with the pie... well we have french vanilla yogurt... The pie was very delicious!!

スクールランチを見直そう　the 'Harvest challenge'

小学校のころの給食。栄養士さんが考えた栄養たっぷりの食事。しかも毎日変わる。アメリカではカフェテリアで子供たちが好きなものを選んで食べるというシステムがほとんどのようだけど、その内容は、あの日本の給食とはかけ離れているようだ、、、。I still remember having such a great meal at elementary school. A dietitian makes out a menu monthly and we had different meal everyday. Everyone was excited the smell from the kitchen when it comes close to lunch time. Where as American School lunch,,,, well I don't know so much about it but I heard that there is something need to be changed.
そこで。今年３回目を迎えるハーベストチャレンジのイベント。周辺の５つの高校がそれぞれ生徒たちが考えた給食メニューを実際に作り、それを町の人たちに試食してもらい投票してもらうというコンテスト。栄養のバランスももちろんですが、地元の食材を使うことにより点数が加算されます。また、コストは通常の学校ランチ１人当たり約＄１におさめないといけません。'The Harvest Challenge event' It is a competition of school lunch menu. This is the third year. 5 local high schools joined it. Students make out a lunch menu, cook it and local people sample it then vote for their favorite menu. There were 5 schools so we sampled 5 excellent lunches!!If they use local food and they get some point. The menu has to be under $1 which is the same as school lunch budget per student.
たっくさんの人たちが集まってきました。一人＄１０は今後の学校給食改善へのドネーションとなります。Many people were enjoying! $10 per person to join this event and it is a donation for the project.
どの学校もとっても工夫がされていて、シンプルな料理の中にたくさんの栄養素がのぞけました。また、冷凍で運ばれてくるピザなどが支流になり、材料に何が使われているかも怖いところ、、、。そんな中、調理をしたランチを提供するということも目的の一つ。日本の給食って恵まれてたんだなーとつくづく思う今日この頃。日本の給食はアメリカが日本にとりいれるようにしてくれたそうだ。そういえば牛乳にパンはほぼ毎日出てたなー。アメリカの学校ランチ、みんなで変えていけたらいいなーーー。Every school had unique and delicious lunch! Most meals are from scratch which is also one of the purpose of this event. Well I really appreciate for our school lunch in Japan that American started for us!! I hope school lunch in the US will be better and better every year!

先日フィンのいとこエラメイちゃん（６カ月）がお母さんとコロラドから遊びに来てくれました！ミスパンプキンちゃん！Finn's cousin Ellamae　and her mom Chrissy came to visit us from Colorado! She is so cute!! Miss Pumpkin!!!
二人は１０カ月違い。こうして見るとフィン、アジア～って感じ！They are 10 months apart. Finn looks Asia~~~~n!
こうして一緒に遊べるって素敵～～～　It's so nice to play together!!

キッズ教室　Kid's class at VMH

９月から行き始めた週１回の幼児お教室。先生が用意してくれるいろいろなアクティビティーを他のお友達と一緒に。Finn Started to join a kid's class once a week. He enjoys a lot of activities with other kids!
毎週毎週季節に合った様々なアクティビティーを用意してくれています。The teacher has many fun idea especially art!
そういえばハロウィーンももうすぐだー Halloween will be soon! Oh time flies,,,,,

スナックタイムはお母さんたちが順番に用意します。この日はクラスメイトのシルビーのお誕生日ケーキ！Snack time! It was Sylvie's special birthday cake!
おやつの後は歌を歌ったり本を読んでもらったり。フィンはまだ集中力に欠けるけど、他のキッズと一緒にいることでとっても刺激になってるみたい！何せいつも大人ばかり一緒にいるからね、、、。After snack time, they sing songs, reading time and so on. Finn hasn't figured out what to do but for sure he is learning something from this class especially being with other kids is very nice since he is always with us adults.
そして週末の今日はバースデーパーティーにおよばれ。Today, we went her actual birthday party!!
シルビーちゃんのおうちはとっても素敵なファームでした！They live such a beautiful place!!!

遺伝子組み換え　GMO

先日町のコープさんに置いてあったNON-GMO（遺伝子組み換えでない）ショッピングガイド。アメリカではまだ日本のように表示が明らかになっていない。もちろんUSDAのオーガニックマークが付いているものは遺伝子組み換えのものは使われていないけど、その他は消費者にとって全然情報が少ない。知らないうちに遺伝子組み換えのものを食べてしまっているという可能性はかなり高い。原材料を見るとほとんどの食品にコーンシロップが使われている。このコーンもほぼGMO,,,.なんて世の中になってしまっているのだろう、、、。わかっててGMOの食品を買うのは個人の自由だけどどれがGMOなのかわからず買ってしまうというのは困ったもの、、、。正しい知識を得たいものです。

我が家にやってきたジョンディアトラクターOur John Deere Tractor

じゃーーーーん！ついにやってきたジョンディアトラクター！We got a big toy!!!
お外で遊ぶのが大好きなフィン。お庭遊びができるのもダディーがいつも芝刈りをしてくれるおかげ。今までは小さな芝刈り機で頑張ってたけどさすがに毎回４時間以上かかるのもどうかと、、、、。そこでついに見つけたジョンディアのトラクター！Finn loves to play outside. Daddy mowers lawn every week in summer for us. It used to take him over 4 hours!!!! Then we got this!
敷地は１．２エーカー（約１４６９坪）。それなりに手入れは少々時間がかかる。それでも田舎でこうしてのんびり広々暮らせるのは幸せ！といっても芝刈りはクロービスがやってくれるねんけど。トラクターは必需品となったおかげでフィンは大喜び。そういえば月の土地１エーカー（約１２００坪）が２７００円で購入できるというウェブサイトを見たことがあったなー。1.2 acre of land is not easy with a pushing mower but this tractor saved Clovis a lot! And Finn loves it! I remember seeing a website said that 1 acre of land on the Moon is 2700 yen (about$33). Well but I am glad that we bought on the Earth!

秋のお祭り　The Harvest Festival

コアラ！？フィン何やら何か見ようと木に登りたがる。Look! Is it a Koala ??!!

この日はビロクアの町で昨年から始まったハーベストパレード。He wanted to see the puppets! This is the second year of the harvest festival.
キャベツのお皿に乗った手作りキムチ寿司とキムチ春巻きそしてリンゴで炊いたビーツをいただきました～！キムチもすべて手作りです！We had Kimuchi sushi, Kimuchi spring roll and beets that was cooked with apple. It is so nice to have a real cabbage plate like this!
たっくさん収穫できたリンゴを使ってアップルサイダーづくり！Let's make fresh apple cider!
なんだこの楽器は？！フィンは楽器が大好き。興味津津。Finn loves music!

周りではドラムが始まった！音楽が鳴るとすぐに踊りだすフィン。Here he goes!!!

１０月なのにこんなに暖かくなってちびっこたちも大喜び！I can't believe it is nice and warm in October! Everyone enjoyed the weather and the festival!!

すっかりご無沙汰になってしまったブログの更新。パソコンの修理にかなり時間がかかりやっと復活。更新していないブログを見て心配して連絡をくださった皆さんお騒がせしました、、、。私たちはみんな元気にウィスコンシンの秋を楽しんでいます！本当にありがとう！My PC has come back! It took longer that I expected but finally I can update my blog!! あっという間にフィンも１５カ月になりました。車、トラック、トラクターが大好き。最近はWhat's that??!!（あれなに？！）という言葉を覚えたので、朝から晩まで指をさしてWhat's thatの連発です。It's been more than a month since I wrote the last blog. Finn is already 15 month I bet he will be a great DD for us! He loves everything that has engine!
１０月に入りとっても暖かな日々が続いているので昨日はお友達たちとミシシッピ川にカヌーをしに行きました！カヌーからもモーターボートのエンジンの音が聞こえるとWhat's that!こんな日がもっと続いてくれるといいのになーーー！We have been having such great weather in October so we decided to go for canoe trip on the Mississippi! I hope this weather keeps little longer!!

やっぱりうれしいバースデー Happy Birthday!

じゃーん！ヒッコリーを使ってデザインされたこのバーチェアー！ほしかってーーーーん！！アーミッシュの家具屋さんはロッキングチェアーやバーチェアーその他オーダーメードを承りっ素敵な家具を作っている。この夏お客様と一緒にアーミッシュショッピングツアーで立ち寄る度にほしいなーと思っていたこの椅子。お誕生日と結婚アニバーサリーを兼ねてクロービスがプレゼントしてくれた。Amish made hickory bent bar stools! I wanted to have those since I saw them at an Amish shop. They make such beautiful furniture! I didn't want to celebrate my birthday anymore so Clovis said this is for our Anniversary which is the same day as my B-day!
う～んこのキッチンにはぴったりだ！うれしいなーうれしいなー。おうちの中でキッチンは一番好き。Yes! They match with my kitchen!! Nice!!!!! The Kitchen is always my favorite place to be in my house!
そんな私に義妹のシダローズが前からほしかったジョイ　オブ　クッキングブック。幅１０センチぐらいあるレシピがたっくさん詰まったクッキングブック。そして、ピンクが好きな私にピンクのナイフも！そして、キーフとケイトは彼らのラジオで私におめでとーメッセージを伝えてくれました！And Cedarose gave me the Joy of Cooking and a pink knife! She knows me so well!!!!And Keefe and Kate sent a birthday wishes on the radio that they host every Monday. My birthday was on Monday this year!! Perfect!!

さてさて今度はアクティビティー編。誕生日、アニバーサリーの当日２２日はクロービスの撮影が入っていたので１日前にお祝いすることに。３人で近くのパークへカヌー。Clovis had to film on Monday so we decided to celebrate one day before. We did canoeing!

ビーチへたどりつき、フィンは大喜び。and we landed on the beach! Finn loved it!
これまたアーミッシュから買ってきたニジマスを燻製にして。チーズもついでに燻製に。短時間で作る燻製だったけど、スモーキーな香りがしておいしかった！フィンが寝た後は久しぶりにサウナに入ってぐっすりお休み。Then we made smoked trout and cheese. Nice and smoky! Then we had a sauna at night after Finn went to bed!

フィンーーーーこれは私のーーーーー！！２２日当日、ケーキは予定してなかったけど、コーバースのバナナスプレッツ。アイスクリームにイチゴ、カラメル、ピカーンと生クリームのトッピング。赤いチェリーがちょこんそしてわきにはバナナ。Banana split is one of our favorite treats!
夜はキャンプファイヤーでピザを焼く。しばらく使ってなかったダッチオーブンが大活躍！誕生日っていつになってもうれしいもんだなー。And home made pizza! We baked on a camp fire in a dutch oven ! Well, I think I still like my birthday!!

フレンズ同窓会Ethan brought his friends together!

数年前クロービスのお友達のイーソンが亡くなり、この日は彼が生きていれば３０歳の誕生日だった。そこでみんなでパーティーを開くことに。ウィスコンシン州から離れて暮らすお友達たちも今日はみんなこのパーティーのために戻ってきた！たくさんの人たちでにぎわいました！This is a very special party for Ethan who passed away a couple of years ago. He would have been 30 years old so we had a big party. Lots of friends came back from other states to join the party!
フィンもみなさんにごあいさつ回り。Finn is greeting people.
おいおい、フィン、ビールはまだ早いよーーー。Oh BEER!!! No, no, no, no, Finn you are too young!
このパーティーにもこれまたエアー遊具が用意されていた！フィン大満足～。遠い彼方でイーソンが離れ離れになっている友達を合わせてくれたんでしょう。素敵なパーティーでした。Finn enjoyed bouncing again! Ethan brought so many friends together! It was a great party!

オンタリオファミリーフェスティバルThe Family festival in Ontario

最近のヒットはこれ。パーティーやフェスティバルに子供用に用意してくれるエアー遊具。先日のウェディングに引き続きフィンはもうワクワクしてしょうがない！今日はオンタリオという地域のファミリーフェスティバル。bouncy castles became one of his favorites. It's so nice that people set up those up for parties and festivals for kids! Today we went to the family festival in Ontario.
さっそくダディーと挑戦！Go daddy and Finn!!
今度はマミーと。周りの人には誰が一番楽しんでるかわからないねーといわれるほど。いやいやこれが意外に楽しい。with mommy too! People said to us ' Who is having more fun??!!'
おなかがすいたところでランチをいただこう！なんとオンタリオのエリアにはラテンコミュニティーがあった！お料理もメキシカン？！おいしかったーー。Food time!! Ontario has a very nice Latin community. The food was awesome!

ミルクばっかり飲んであんまり食べ物に興味を示さなかったフィンもパクパク！He is not so interested in eating food but today he ate a lot!!
トラクターが大好きなフィンには最高のフェスティバルでした！！Wow wow tractor!!!

母乳をやめて３日目。ずっとボトルを離さずこんな風に持ち歩いてます。母乳なしで頑張ってるので抱っこしてほしい時はひたすら抱っこしてあげてます！頑張れ息子ー！Since I quit nursing, he hold the bottle all the time like this! Also he always wants to be held so I hold him as much as possible.

子供たちがたくさん来ていたので遊具がたくさん用意されていました！さすが！フィンもダディーに連れられてジャンプジャンプ！There were a lot of kids. it was a great idea to get the bouncy castle!

滑り台はやっぱりフィンの一番のお気に入り！Look at the boy. He loves it!
そして最後はミュージックタイム！これまた素敵なウェディングでした！Music time! It was another wonderful wedding!

オーガニックベイビーフード　Organic Baby foods

フィンのベイビーフードは主に手作り。お庭のガーデンやファーマーズマーケットからの旬のお野菜とお肉をおじいちゃんに最近もらった圧力なべでしゅしゅしゅーーーーっとして、この手でまわすベビーフードミキサーにかけて後は氷の方に入れて冷凍すれば必要な量を使えるから便利。I make Finn's food with seasonal vegetables as much as possible from our garden, farmer's market and the Viroqua food co-op!
Finn's great grandpa gave us his pressure pan and I love it. It is so easy to make food that Finn can eat too! We put any food through the baby food mill and then put it in an ice cube tray to freeze. I just take a couple of cubes for each meal.

ごっくんごっくん。母乳を卒業してくれたフィン！全然使わなかった哺乳瓶が大活躍！それにしてもよく飲む！ After I quite nursing him just 5days ago, he drinks any liquid a lot! We never got to use a milk bottle before but now he holds it almost all day! bottoms up!

初めてのファミリーキャンピングトリップ　　Our first family camping trip!

家族３人だけでのキャンプはそういえば初めて！６月、７月は忙しい日々だったので８月はファミリータイムを取ろうと決め、まずはさっそくキャンプへ！今年はテントも３人で寝られるように大きなサイズ。場所はウィスコンシン州立公園ドッチビル車で約１時間半。湖があり、ファミリー向けのパークになっている！We've been supper busy last couple of months so we decided to take some time for ourselves. For the start, we went for our first family camping trip to Governor Dodge State Park in Wisconsin! It's about 1.5 hour driving, not bad at all!
さあ、テントを張って寝床が確保できたところでサンセットカヌー！よよい～～～～
After we set up our tent we went for canoeing on the lake at sunset! Wax on Wax Off??!! I really think sometimes he does Japanese staff naturally!!
夜中にサンだーストームが来たので朝食は近くの町のローカルパブレストランにて。私のアメリカンブレックファーストのお気に入りはビスケット＆グレービーソース。フィンはいつも私たちを真似したがり、同じ食べ物、そしてまだうまく使えないけどいっちょまえにスプーンを持ちたがる。We had a thunder storm that night so we decided to get some brecky in the local restaurant. I love gravy and Biscuits so does Finn. He wants to eat the same food as we eat and wants to hold a spoon by himself.

いよいよハイキング！レッツゴー！！！母乳ってなんて楽なのかしら～って思っていたけど、ミルクボトルもなかなか楽ちん！ハイキングの間フィンはずっとボトルを離さずこんな風に持ってました！卒乳に向けてがんばってーーー！！Now it's time for hiking!!! Finn was holding a milk bottle all the way! Good Good! I thought breastfeeding is the easiest but bottle is not too bad either!
なかなか素敵なハイキングコース！岩の苔がなんだか日本を思わせる。The moss on the rocks reminds me of Japan!!
滝までやってきた！涼しー！Oh nice and cool!!
お水遊びが大好きなフィンも大喜び！Finn loves playing in water!

チョコレートバーを食べていると、、、、。あらら、、、。
It's snack time! Oh no----Mr.Finn you are discovering the sweet world!!!
さ、次はビーチにたどりついたよ！フィン、湖で泳ぎたいん？We arrived on the beach! Are you ready?!
ぷ～かぷ～か！！　この後はまたカヌーを楽しみBBQしてぐっすりテントでお休み。Wii-----! After that we went canoeing again, BBQ our dinner and then slept well in the tent!

２日目の朝食はキャンプに欠かせないSiemonファミリーブレックファスト。フィンも一緒の食べたいの。Our family camping breakfast! Wow Mr.Finn has same one??!!
パンだけってのばれちゃった、、、。同じもの食べたいよね、、、。はいどうぞ！He knows what he wants. The plane bread with aluminum is not the one he wants to!!O.K O.K here you go!! ８本目の歯が生えかけのフィン。食べた後はちゃんと歯磨きもしてえらいえらい！His 8th tooth is on the way!
初めて家族だけでのキャンプ。フィンは１歳としては上出来でした！私たちも赤ちゃんずれキャンプでは次はこうしたらいいねーって事をたくさん学びました！It was very success!! Finn did really good for a one year old baby! And we leaned more about how we can do camping with a baby!!

卒乳に向けて Quitting nursing?

１歳の誕生日の後、夜はミルクなしルールで成功したMr.Finn。これもダディークロービスが３日間、夜中ミルクをほしがるフィンを抱っこしてあやしてくれたおかげ！今のゴールは卒乳。先日の血液検査では鉄分が少し不足とのこともあり卒乳に向けて、初めての粉ミルクに挑戦！スーパーで売っている赤ちゃんの粉ミルクの原料をよく見てみると、やっぱりコーンシロップが入っている。もちろんミルクもオーガニックではない。今回チョイスしたのはNatures Onehttp://www.naturesone.com/　のフォローアップミルク。粉ミルクの原料ってじっくり読んだことなかったけど、一番初めに来るのはやっぱり糖分なのねー。ちなみにこの粉ミルクは玄米シロップが使われている。そしてベースはオーガニックノンファットミルク。その他、オレイン酸たっぷりのオーガニックサンフラワーオイル、オーガニックダイズ油、オーガニックココナッツ油、など良質の油が使われている。しばらくこれで様子を見るかー。それにしても通常のスーパーでオーガニック粉ミルクを見つけるのはこんなに大変だとは！町のナチュラルフードコープさんに感謝感謝！Finn has been successful for sleeping through the night after his first birthday. Daddy Clovis took over the night gig and it worked very well! Good job Clovis!! Now we are hoping that I can quit nursing. We got his first formula. ブルーベリー２０キロゲット！40bl of Blueberry!

今年もこの楽しみ！ブルーベリー！！ウィスコンシンはベリー王国。毎年７月下旬にアーミッシュのフルーツショップで格安でブルーベリーをゲット!アーミッシュのお店ということもあって、電話で問い合わせることもできないので、時期を見計らって訪問しないと見逃してしまう。今年は２０キロほどのブルーベリーをゲット！ちなみにお値段は80ドル！まずはフレッシュそのもので味わってと！It's blueberry season! Every year around Kickapoo fair lots of blueberries are available at the Amish fruit shop in the La Farge area. Since it is an Amish shop, we have to guess when exactly it is available! This year we got 40lb! 10lb for $20! We enjoyed the fresh blueberries!
冷凍庫で保存すればいつでもスムージーで味わうことができる。毎朝作るスムージー。私達ってベリーの消費が激しい！保存用の冷凍庫にはストロベリーとブルーベリーがたっくさん！今度はどのベリーかなーー！ラズベリー、ブラックベリーうーーーーー楽しみーーーー！！We stocked them in our big freezer! We have been enjoying our smoothies every morning! What berry is next??!! Lots of berries grow in Wisconsin! We love it!

ファームステイとアクティビティープログラムに参加のケイコちゃん。Keiko Joined our Farm-stay and country activity program for 2 weeks.
ステイ先のファーマーの自慢の品ソルガムシロップ。ソルガムという植物から取れるナチュラルシロップで、マラシスや黒糖に似た味がしてミネラルや鉄分たっぷり！もちろんオーガニック！The family she stayed with grow sorghum and make syrup. It has a lot of mineral and iron! And of course it's organic!
早速ソルガムシロップを使ってポップコーンを作ってみました！レシピのコーンシロップのところをソルガムシロップに変えて。I made Kettle popcorn with it instead of using corn syrup! It was super good!!

レシピ　５リットルのポップコーンに対して
１スティック　バター（１２０グラム）
小さじ1/2　塩
２５０ｃｃ（アメリカサイズの１カップ）ブラウンシュガー
1/4 ライトコーンシロップ　→　ソルガムシロップ
小さじ1/2　ベーキングソーダ
バター塩、ブラウンシュガー、ソルガムシロップを火にかけて混ぜる。混ぜすぎるとカラメルになってしまうので沸騰したら火を止めるぐらいでOK.その後ベーキングソーダーを入れて混ぜポップコーンにかける！お好みで２カップ　ピーナッツを混ぜる。かなりいけてるので食べすぎに注意！

おなじみロビンの天然ハーブのサブ（軟膏）作り。Robin's herb lecture is always interesting!
アウトドアのほとんどがはじめてというけいこちゃん。カヌーにも挑戦！Keiko never did canoeing before!
うーん、夏のキカプーは最高だわー。The Kickapoo is sooooooooooo great!!!

最後はビロクアのファーマーズマーケットで家族とお別れ。あっという間だね。It's already time to say good bye to the family,,,. Good bye and see you again, thank you so much for coming to Wisconsin Keiko!!

シダローズ＆キーフウェディング！The Cedarose & Keefe's Wedding!7/23/2011

ウェディング当日はとってもすばらしいお天気に恵まれ、次々と到着するゲストの方々が式場へ。Cedarose and Keefe's Wedding day!! It's great weather for the wedding! Around 400 people came to celebrate for them!!

ファームステイプログラムに参加しているけいこちゃんもホストファミリーとともにきてくれました！ウィスコンシンでは４人目のケイコ！Keiko #4 (we had 4Keikos in Wisconsin so far) came with her host family. She is doing our farm stay program for 2 weeks!

さあ、ボーイズたちの準備は整ったようで。Boys are seems ready!

ガールズたちはシダローズのおうちでドレスアップ！ヘアースタイリストは私の結婚式でも日本、そしてウィスコンシン両方を担当してくれたケイティー！Girls were at Cedarose's house getting ready! Katie did most of the girl's hair!! She is an excellent hair stylist and she did for our wedding too in Japan and Wisconsin!!http://thelittlecountryschool.blogspot.com/2009/07/wedding-alla-wisconsin.html 　
式中のミュージックはライブ。ローズは式前にかるくウォームアップ！Rose is an amazing musician. She is getting ready for playing guitar for their wedding!
さーミスターフィン、君も容易はいいかな？ウェディングカラーがピンクとアイボリーなのでフィンもピンクの蝶ネクタイを１日前に急いで作りました！なかなかお似合いです。Mr. Finn is ready too. The Wedding color is Pink so I made the tie last night. He looks good!!
うわーーーすてきすてきーーーー！このバージンロードをお父さんと歩く瞬間はいつ見ても感動！涙があふれちゃう！Wow I almost cry,,, they look wonderful don't they?!
１時間に及ぶセレモニーの中で、お互いの足を泉で洗ったり、お友達の歌、詩の朗読。素敵な式となりました！About one hour ceremony. They wash their feet each other in a spring and friends played music, sang songs read poem and so on,,,. It was great ceremony!
素敵なお二人。いつまでもお幸せに！You guys are so beautiful! Congratulations!!
ウェディングドレスはシダローズがアンティークのウェディングドレスを買ってきて自分でアレンジをしました！すてきーーー！式に使われたお花も春の間からみんなに手伝ってもらって植えて育てたもの。お料理の中のコーンもこの時期少し早いので特別にグリーンハウスで早捲きして育てたオーガニックとうもろこし！デコレーションや招待状、そのほか、ほとんど手作り。ほんとうに素敵なウェディングになりました！Cedarose arranged her wedding dress and she planted flowers with her friends for the wedding. She planted Corn for the wedding with her family and friends. Many things were hand made. It was such a wonderful wedding!
ディナーだって、お友達の愛情たっぷり！The dinner was cooked by friends who does catering! It was also special!

この後はディナーにウィスコンシンスクエアーダンス、そしてビロクアの地元バンドジェラトーンのライブミュージックでダンスパーティー！４００人ほどのゲストと夜中まで楽しんだ後はテントの中でぐっすり！シダローズ、キーフ、そして周りの皆さんで作り上げた本当に最高のウェディングになりました！After the dinner, we enjoyed Wisconsin square dancing, Viroqua local band and dance party! Then we slept in a tent that night!
朝起きるとフィンがいない！！テントから外をのぞくと、、、、。そこにはお友達と楽しそうに遊んでいるフィンが！The following morning I couldn't see my son when I work up. I peeked out side there he is!!

リハーサルディナー　The Rehearsal Dinner on the Siemon Farm!

まだまだ続くパーティー。カヌーのあとはリハーサルディナー。二人ともウェディングカラーのピンク！After the canoe trip we had a rehearsal dinner on the Siemon farm! Pink Pink Pink!
おいしそうなフルーツ！！Wow lovely!
シダローズもキーフもどちらもお母さんの名前がジェーン！そしてキーフのお母さんは双子で髪型も同じ、二人ともカントリーミュージシャン。周りはたまに混乱。Both of their Moms are Jane which is a little confusing sometimes and Keefe's mom and her sister Gene are identical twins! Both of them have the same hair style and they both are great country musicians!! We enjoyed the wonderful appetizers!
ファミリーも友達もみんなお二人の結婚を祝福します！Friends, family and relatives, are all happy for cedar and keefe!
シダローズのおばあちゃんとおじいちゃんは最近コロラドからウィスコンシンへ引っ越してきた。とっても長い旅だったけど、こうしてシダローズたちの結婚を一緒にお祝い出来て何より！Grandma Polski made it! Grandpa and Grandma moved to Wisconsin from Colorado. It was a looooooong trip but we are so happy to have you both here especially we can celebrate Cedarose and Keefe's wedding together!!
シーモンファミリーにとって、オーガニックはとっても重要。リハーサルディナーも９８％オーガニック料理！Organic is very important for the Siemon family. The dinner was probably 98% Organic!
お野菜は地元のファーマーから旬のものを！The vegetables are from local farms!
うーん、チョコレートチーズケーキにラズベリーとミントを添えて！ほんとおいしかったーーー！Chocolate cheese cake and raspberries! It was a wonderful dinner!!!
フィン、、、、女の子は対外男の子よりもついよいんだよ、、、。Finn,,, Normally girls are not stronger than boys, but you may have met your match.

ウェディングカヌートリップ！the Wedding Canoe trip

だんだん遠くに住むお友達や親せきも集まってきたところでみんなでウェディング前の恒例カヌートリップ！Now many friends and relatives who live long ways away are here in Wisconsin for Cedarose and Keefe's big wedding. So we all went canoeing on the Kickapoo together!
カヌーにもだんだん慣れてきたフィン！He is a champ!
今日はみんなと一緒に４時間のカヌーです！暑かった日々も今日はようやく少し下がって快適なカヌー日和でした！普段静かなキカプー川も今日は大人数でワイワイ！これもまた楽しいなー。4 hours canoeing! The temperature dropped a little bit, making it perfect weather for canoeing!
途中で崖から飛び込んだり泳いだり。We enjoyed watching them jumping off the cliff!
おっとーシダローズが次々とカヌーを転覆させているぞーーー！oh NO!---- Cedarose is flipping over the canoes watch out!!!
おー。川の水は夏といえど冷たいねー。oh,,, the water is quite cold,,,,

おっとグランパがついにフィンを川へ連れ出した！！Grandpa George took Finn into water!!!

Finn and Grandpa George. They are sharing a chair and hamburger! Cedarose and Keefe invited the family members over for BBQ before their wedding.

妊娠中、やけにハンバーガーが食べたかったのはこの子のせいか！Now I remember that I always wanted to eat hamburgers when I was pregnant!

お月さまが奇麗だなー。ダディーとトラクター。 Such a nice evening. Finn loves tractors and Daddy.

ウェディングレイディースパーティーズ the Ｌａｄｙ’ｓ Wedding parties!

７月２３日は妹のシダローズとキーフの結婚式。この１週間はパーティー三昧になります。まずは叔母のマーギーとおばあちゃんマーガレットが主催したウェディングシャワー。手作りのサンドイッチやデザートが並びます！Cedarose and Keefe are getting married on July 23rd. Aunt Marge and Grandma Siemon hosted the wedding shower for her on July 9th ! Home made sandwiches and deserts!

これは女性だけのパーティーです！This is woman's party.
フィンと雄犬のチャーリーは特別。Besides for Finn and the little doggy Charley!
たくさんのプレゼント！みんなの前でお披露目です！Lots of nice gifts for her! Are you getting ready Cedarose?!
On July 20th, Julia and Adley planed a bridal blessing way for the ladies!ところ変わって７月２０日にはお友達によりアレンジされたブライダルブレッシングウェイ！ウェディング前の最後の女の子のパーティー。
Cedarose's wedding color is Pink! The Girls made nice Mojitos with raspberry in them to make them Pink! Oh I love Mojitos, especially with the fresh mint!! シダローズのウェディングカラーはピンクなので、ガールズたちは、カクテルを楽しみました。ホワイトラムベースにライム果汁とフレッシュミントのモヒートー。今回はラズベリーを加えてピンクに！
レイディースパーティーだけど、、、、。またまたフィンは特別ゲストです。It's a ladies party,,, of course he is a special guest!
みんなで持ち寄った素敵なお料理を食べてEveryone brought nice food for the potluck!
シダローズへのブレッシング。Now we are blessing her with our good thoughts!
結婚のアドバイスやシダローズとの思い出や、たくさん語って笑って泣いて。Friends and family talked about Cedarose and gave her some marriage advices,,,,. We cried and laughed so hard. We love you Cedarose!
そんな素敵なサークルの後に恐縮ですが、バチェラーパーティーと思った私はそれなりのアクティビティーを用意。うーブログではＮＧなので皆さんのご想像にお任せします！I thought it was going to be a bachelorette party and brought a special activity for it. It was a more elegant party but since I brought it, we enjoyed it! I can't show you all of it but you can imagine!

毎週土曜日のファーマーズマーケットに大輝君もポールと一緒にお野菜を売りに来ました！自分で収穫してきれいにしたお野菜が売れる瞬間はうれしいね！Daiki came to the Farmer's Market in Viroqua with his host father Paul! It's so nice to see the vegetables that he harvest and cleaned being sold!

ポールは何でもできちゃうつわもの！フィドルもかっこよく演奏してくれてお客さんも踊りながらやってきた！Paul was playing fiddle beautifully and people were dancing around their booth!
町のミュージシャン達で盛り上がる！Viroqua has many great musician!
あ！ハーブの達人ロビン見つけた！今日はパートナーのジェフが焼くパンも一緒に売っていた！私達も早速買ってみた！小麦やライ麦、スペルと小麦など栄養たっぷりのサワドーブレッド！粉も挽きたてで焼きます！ファーマーズマーケットは町のいろいろな人に会えるのも楽しみの一つ！ファーマー達も自慢げに作物を売っている姿はとっても素敵！Robin is the herb master! Her partner Jeff bakes wonderful bread. They started selling his bread too! It's wheat, rye and spelt sourdough bread! It was very good! He bakes with very fresh flour that is grated right before baking!

大輝君とホストブラザーのジェーコブ。二人はベースボールが大好き同士。ジェーコブは妹が二人いるけど、今回は野球を一緒にやってくれるお兄ちゃんができたみたいでとっても喜んでいます！大輝くんもお子ちゃま好きのせいか、お子ちゃま達からも大人気！Daiki and Jacob, they both love baseball. Jacob has two sisters but no brothers. but now he has a brother for 2 weeks! (Daiki is staying with Jacob's family for 2 weeks) Daiki loves children and children love Daiki too!

アクティビティー隊長クロービスとボーイズはカヌーの旅へ。暑くも寒くもない本当に心地よい天候になりました！！Activity leader Clovis took the boys for canoeing!! It was perfect weather for it!
川で泳ぐのも気持ちがいい！でもちょっと水が冷たかったかなー！Swimming in the river is so nice! The Wisconsin boys (Clovis and Jacob) jumped right in, But it was bit too cold for Daiki??!!

ウィスコンシントンネルバイキング！The Old tunnel Biking trail in Wisconsin!

おなじみオールドレールサイクリングコース。今日は大輝君とホストシスターのマーサ、そしてアクティビティー隊長クロービスに私も混じってきました！We really love this bike trail that goes through old train tunnels. I left my son with our cousin Laurel and joined Daiki, Martha and Activity leader Clovis!
お日様が照ってるけど、周りの木々が影を作ってくれているので、かなり快適なサイクリング。そしてトンネルの中はナチュラルクーラーでひんやりして気持ちがいい！The trees make shade for us so we didn't get to much sun! Plus in the tunnels, it is cool, like natural air conditioning!
おっきなお兄ちゃんがもう一人できてうれしいね！Know she has a new big brother!
途中こんなウィスコンシンの田舎の景色を眺めていたら、along the trail there are lots of beautiful Wisconsin country views!
うわーー子牛たちが水浴びしてる！気持ちよさそーーー！２７キロのサイクリング。なんだかあっという間だったような！！Look! Baby cows are swimming! It was 27km??!! Wow, we did great!

インディペンデンスデーとファームステイ　Independence Day and Farm-stay

７月４日はアメリカの独立記念日！今日はオレゴン州に留学中の大輝くんがご到着！この先２週間ファームステイとカントリーアクティビティーをご満喫していただきます！Daiki who is studying in Oregon arrived in Wisconsin on Independence day! He is joining our farm- stay and country activities program for 2 weeks!
飛行機の疲れもマイナスイオンたっぷりの自然で癒されますねー！After the long flight, we took him straight for hiking. It's so nice to hit the ground running and head straight out into nature!
ボーイズたちはBBQの準備。Boys are preparing the BBQ!
ウィスコンシン名物ブラッツにチキンを焼いてお野菜と、トルティーヤに包んでいただきました！We have to have Wisconsin brats! We also had chicken with vegetables with tortillas! BBQ is an Independence day tradition!
その後はホストファミリーとのご対面！Finally Daiki got to meet his host family! They also had their friends and relatives over.
おうちの中に入ってみると、、、家族みんなでウェルカムサインを用意していてくれました！これから楽しみだね！この後は独立記念日のパーティーに家族と一緒に！Wow!! They even made a Welcome sign for him! After that they went to their friend's place for an Independence day party! I am sure Daiki will have a lot of fun living with a Wisconsin family!
私たちはビロクアへ戻り、恒例の独立記念日花火を見に行きました！夏だ夏だーー！！昨年はフィンを生んだ後病院に入院していたのでインディペンデンスデーではなくフィンディペンデンスデーと冗談を言っていたのを思い出した！We came back to Viroqua and went to see the annual firework with our family! It's summer time!!!! Last year we were in the hospital as I had Finn and I needed to stay at the hospital 8 days. We called it FINNDEPENDENCE DAY instead!
